Random thoughts:

  • Thinking in threes as I tend to do. Today's three main chores were accomplished in a very timely manner, two of them a bit more challenging that expected, but accomplished anyway.
  • Today, tomorrow, and the next day all close out a bit differently. Today I have college basketball to watch, tomorrow will be a new episode of NCIS, and Wednesday will have an evening Zoom business meeting.
  • As for the last few days of this week, I'll be preparing for the start of two new chess tournaments in which I'm registered.

Random thoughts:

  • When I put head to pillow tonight it will be with a certain sense of satisfaction. The yard work this afternoon does improve the looks of this place, and I didn't knock myself out doing it. A phone call from my doctor's office let me know that the liver sonogram I had done a few days ago came back clear. I avoided spending any money today. And there's no need to set an alarm to wake me tomorrow morning. So I expect a better night's sleep tonight than I've had all week.

Random thoughts:

  • Thank God for the escapes from worrying too much about national and international political matters  provided by my hobbies, and for the steadying influence of my prayer life. It's important to be aware of things that are happening, and to make plans that are flexible enough to adapt to coming changes. But worrying too much can make a person sick,  and fear can paralyze a person, making it hard to do things that need to be done. So tonight I'm thankful for, among other things, the liberating effects and discipline provided by my hobbies and my prayer life.
