[99] In Tune with the Infinite

Ralph Waldo Trine

This book is about connecting to my higher source of wisdom and understanding. The concept of infinite intelligence. My ability to tap into something that I have access to, everybody has access to, and in this journey of life we cultivate ourselves to be able to understand, reveal, and reflect on how all the information that is available to me, and ever will be available to me, is accessed from within. My world is created from within, thus everything comes from within. In the earlier stages of development, I might look at the external world and think that I am the effect of the external world. And while this is true, I am a product of my surroundings, environment, people, and so forth, one of the things that happens is that eventually on this journey I begin to realize who I am. In the process of becoming more realized, I become the cause, in a world that I live in, where I felt that I was the effect, all of a sudden reality starts to look different. I begin to see myself as the cause. Not because someone told me, but because I realize that with every thought that I have, I am able to track it to an experience, a circumstance, an environment, and a person and reflect that that thought materialized the equivalent in the external world. Then, as I continue to reflect upon it, what I begin to understand is that I get a deeper sense of awareness of my own ability to create.

Premise

  • Within myself lies the cause of whatever enters into my life. To come into the full realization of my own awakened inner powers is to be able to condition my life exact accord with what I would have it

Will

  • Much is said today in regard to the will. It is many times spoken of as if it were a force in itself. But will is a force, a power, only in so far as it is a particular form of the manifestation of the thought forces, for it is by what I call the "will" that thought is focused and given a particular direction, and in the degree that thought is thus focused and given direction, is it effective in the work it is sent out to accomplish
  • In a sense there are two kinds of will, the human and the divine. The human will is the will of what, for convenience sake, I may term the lower self. It is the will that finds its life merely in the realm of the mental and the physical, the sense will. It is the will of the one who is not yet awake to the fact that there is a life that far transcends the life of merely the intellect and the physical senses, and which, when realized and lived, does not do away with or minify these, but which, on the contrary, brings them to their highest perfection and to their powers of keenest enjoyment. The divine will is the will of the highest self, the will of the one who recognizes their oneness with the Divine, and who consequently brings their will to work in harmony, in conjunction with the divine will
  • The human will has its limitations. So far and no farther, says the law. The divine will has no limits. It is supreme. All things are open and subject to me, says the law, and so, int eh degree that the human will is transmuted into the divine, in the degree that it comes into harmony with, and so acts in conjunction with the divine, does it become supreme. Then it is that "Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee." The greatest secrete of life and power, then, is to make and to keep one's conscious connection with this infinite intelligence

Awareness

  • There is a golden threat that runs through every religion in the world. There is a golden thread that runs through the lives and the teachings to all the prophets, seers, sages, and saviors in the world's history, through the lives of all men of truly great and lasting power. All that they have ever done or attained to has been done in full accordance with law
  • Each is building their own world. We both build from within and we attract from without. Thought is the force with which we build, for thoughts are forces. Like builds like and like attracts like. In the degree that thought is spiritualized does it become more subtle and powerful in its workings. This spiritualizing is in accordance with law and is within the power of all
  • Everything is first worked out in the unseen before it is manifested in the seen, in the ideal before it is realized in the real, in the spiritual before it shows forth in the material. The realm of the unseen is the realm of cause. The realm of the seen is the realm of effect. The nature of effect is always determined and conditioned by the nature of its cause
  • There is a divine sequence running through the universe. Within and above and below the human will incessantly works the divine will. To come into harmony with it and thereby with all the higher laws and forces, to come then into league and to work in conjunction with them, in order that they can work in league and in conjunction with us, is to come into the chain of this wonderful sequence. This is the secret of all success. This is to come into the possession of unknown riches, into the realization of undreamed-of powers
  • The optimist is right. The pessimist is right. The one differs form the other as though light from the dark. Yet both are right. Each is right from their own particular point of view, and this point of view is the determining factor in the life of each other. It determines as to whether it is a life of power or of impotence, of peace or of pain, of success or of failure
  • I need to realize that environment should never be allowed to make the man, but that man should always, and always can, condition the environment. When I realize this, I shall find that many times it is not necessary to take myself out of any particular environment, because I may yet have work to do there, but by the very force I carry with me I can so affect and change matters that I shall have an entirely new set of conditions in an old environment

Character

  • This is the spirit of infinite love. The moment we recognize ourselves as one with it we shall become so filled with love that we see only the good in all. And when we realize that we are all one with this infinite spirit, then we realize that in a sense we are all one with each other. When we come into a recognition of this fact, we can then do no harm to any one, to any thing. We find that we are all members of the one great body, and that no portion of the body can be harmed without all the other portions suffering thereby
  • And then when we fully realize the fact that selfishness is at the root of all error, sin, and crime, and that ignorance is the basis of all selfishness, with what charity we come to look upon the acts of all! It is the ignorant man who seek his own ends at the expense of the grater whole. It is the ignorant man, therefore, who is the selfish man. The truly wise man is never selfish. He is a seer, and recognizes the fact that he, a single member of the one great body, is benefited in just the degree that the entire body is benefited, and so he seeks nothing for himself that he would not equally seek for all mankind
  • Every thought I entertain is a force that goes out, and every thought comes back laden with its kind. This is an immutable law. Every thought I entertain has moreover a direct effect upon my body. Love and its kindred emotions are the normal and the natural, those in accordance with the eternal order of the universe, for the divine is love. These have a life-giving, health-engendering influence upon my body, besides beautifying my countenance, enriching my voice, and making me ever more attractive in every way. And as it is true that in the degree that I hold thoughts of love for all, I call the same from them in return, and as these have a direct effect upon my mind, and through my mind upon my body, it is as so much life force added to my own from without. I am then continually building this into both my mental and my physical life, and so my life is enriched by its influence
  • When I come fully to realize the great fact that all evil and error and sin with all their consequent suffering come through ignorance, then wherever I see a manifestation of these in whatever form, if my heart is right I will have compassion and sympathy for the one in whom I see. Compassion will then change itself into love, and love will manifest itself in kindly service. Such is the divine method. And so instead of aiding in trampling and keeping a weaker one down, I will hold them up until they can stand alone and become the master

Intent

  • This is the spirit of infinite plenty, the power that has brought, that is continually bringing, all things into expression in material form. He who lives in the realization of his oneness with this infinite power becomes a magnet to attract to himself a continual supply of whatsoever things he desires
  • If one holds themselves in the thought of poverty they will be poor, and the chances are that they will remain in poverty. If one holds themselves, whatever present conditions may be, continually in the thought of prosperity, they set into operation forces that will sooner or later bring them into prosperous conditions
    • The law of attraction works unceasingly throughout the universe, and the one great and never changing fact in connection with it is, as I have found, that like attracts like. If am one with this infinite power, this source of all things, then in the degree that I live in the realization of this oneness, in that degree do I actualize in myself a power that will bring to me an abundance of all things that it is desirable for me to have
    • In this way I come into possession of a power whereby I can actualize at all times those conditions that I desire
  • This is the law of prosperity: When apparent adversity comes, be not cast down by it, but make the best of it, and always look forward for better things, for conditions more prosperous. To hold myself in this attitude of mind is to set into operation subtle, silent, and irresistible forces that sooner or later will actualize in material form that which is today merely an idea
  • When I recognize the fact that a man carries their success or failure with them, and that is does not depend upon outside conditions, I shall come into the possession of powers that will quickly change outside conditions into agencies that make for success. When I come into this higher realization and bring my life into complete harmony with the higher laws, I shall then be able to focus and direct the awakened interior forces, that they will go out and return laden with that for which they are sent
  • Not only do I attract to myself the things I fear, but I also aid in attracting to others the conditions I, in my own mind, holds them in fear of. This I do in proportion to the strength of my own thought, an din the degree that they are sensitively organized and so influenced by my thought, and this although it be unconscious both on their part and on mine
  • Don't surrender my individuality, which is my greatest agent of power, to the customs and conventionalities that have got their life from the great mass of those who haven't enough force to preserve their individualities, those who in other words have given them over as ingredients to the "mush of concession" which one of our greatest writers has said characterizes our modern society. If I do surrender my individuality in this way, I simply aid in increasing the undesirable conditions; in payment for this I become a slave, and the changes are that in time I will be unable to hold even the respect of those whom I, in this way, try to please

[98] Acres of Diamonds

Russell H. Conwell

I have in my awareness, right now, everything that I need to create the success that I want. The question is if I value it. The metaphorical story of Acres of Diamonds is that a man sold his land to go out in search of new opportunity for wealth. After struggling for years, he soon found that that the land that he sold was filled with diamonds. In other words, he had access to the opportunity, but because he did not take the time to really value what he had, to educate himself on what he had, he was not able to recognize the truth: That the answers are always in front of my face

My own Acres of Diamonds

  • Each of us is right in the middle of our own Acres of Diamonds
    • I must go within and remove old subconscious programming and replace it with empowering, possibility-based success consciousness-based programming
    • When I do this, I will be able to recognize that the circumstances, the situations, the environment, that I have right now is actually an opportunity. Each of these contain within it knowledge and wisdom that, when acquired, will transform the current circumstance into success and propel me, if I wanted to be so, out of that circumstance into another circumstance in which I will learn and repeat the lesson over and over again creating for myself more and more success
  • Napoleon Hill, Think & Grow Rich
    • A great many years ago I purchased a fine dictionary. The first thing I did with it was to turn to the word "impossible," and neatly clip it out of the book. That would not be an unwise thing for you to do
  • Opportunity is there all the time
    • When I change the way I look at things, the things I look at change
    • Opportunities multiply as they are seized - Sun Tzu
  • In life, when I go searching for "something," I should know what that "something" looks, smells, and tastes like so that I can recognize it when I find it
  • Faith (Think and Grow Rich)
    • In connection with this, consider again the statement, all thoughts which have been emotionalized, (given feeling) and mixed with faith, begin immediately to translate themselves into their physical equivalent or counterpart
    • My belief, or faith, is the element which determines the action of my subconscious mind
    • The subconscious mind will transmute into its physical equivalent, by the most direct and practical media available, any order which is given to it in a state of belief, or faith that the order will be carried out
    • A mind dominated by positive emotions, becomes a favorable abode for the state of mind known as faith. A mind so dominated may, at will, give the subconscious mind instructions, which it will accept and act upon immediately

Begin where I am and what I am

  • Maintain a ready mind. Be open to the possibilities around me
  • Learn what people want, then give it to them
    • How can I speak to them, based on where they are and what they may or may not know what they are looking for?
    • What are their emotional hot points an dhow could I tie them into the benefits of doing business with me?
    • How can I get more personal, one on one in tone and show them that I understand them?
    • How can I take my entire marketing and selling and design it in a way that is easier for them to comprehend?
    • How can I leave them better off now that they have crossed paths with me?
    • How to increase and demonstrate my trustworthiness?
    • How does my story relate to theirs?
    • How can I be more clear on the step is want them to take?
    • What create ways can I quantify my value proposition?
    • What are better ways that I can turn the risk around
  • I become what I think about (The Strangest Secret)
    • Marcus Aurelius said "A man's life is what his thoughts make of it"
    • Disraeli said "Everything comes if a man will only wait, I've brought myself by long meditation to the conviction that a human being with a settled purpose must accomplish it and that nothing can resist a will that will stake even existence for its fulfillment"
    • William James said "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human being can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind. We need only in cold blood act as if the thing in question were real and it will become infallibly real by growing into such a connection with our life that it will become real. It will become so knit with habit and emotion that our interest in it will be those which characterize belief. If you only care enough for a result, you will almost certainly attain it. If you wish to be rich, you will be rich. If you wish to be learned, you will be learned. If you wish to be good, you will be good. Only you must really wish these things and wish them exclusively and not wish at the same time a hundred other incompatible things just as strongly."
    • Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said "This is one of the greatest laws in the universe, fervently do I wish I had discovered it as a very young man. It dawned upon me much later in life and I found it to be one of the greatest, if not my greatest, discovery outside of my relationship with God. The great law briefly and simply stated is that if you think in negative terms, you will get negative results. If you think in positive results, you will achieve positive results. That is the simple fact which is at the basis of an astonishing law of prosperity and success. In three words: Believe and succeed.
    • George Bernard Shaw said "People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want and if they can't find them, make them."
    • The human mind is much like a farmer's land. The land gives the farmer a choice. He may plant in that land whatever he chooses. The land doesn't care what is planted. It's up to the farmer to make the decision. The mind, like the land, will return what I plant, but it doesn't care what I plant. If the farmer plants two seeds and a seed of corn, the other nightshade, a deadly poison, waters and takes care of the land, what will happen?
  • Persistence is a state of mind, therefore it can be cultivated. Like all states of mind, persistence is based upon definite causes, among them these:
    1. Definiteness of Purpose. Knowing what one want sis the first and, perhaps, the most important step toward the development of persistence. A strong motive forces one to surmount many difficulties
    2. Desire. It is comparatively easy to acquire and to maintain persistence in pursuing the object of intense desire
    3. Self-Reliance. Belief in one's ability to carry out a plan encourages one to follow the plan through with persistence
    4. Definiteness of Plans. Organized plans, even though they may be weak and entirely impractical, encourage persistence
    5. Accurate Knowledge. Knowing that one's plans are sound, based upon experience or observation, encourages persistence; "guessing" instead of "knowing" which destroys persistence
    6. Cooperation. Sympathy, understanding, and harmonious cooperation with others tend to develop persistence
    7. Will-Power. The habit of concentrating one's thoughts upon the building of plans for the attainment of a definite purpose, leads to persistence
    8. Habit. Persistence is the direct result of habit. The mind absorbs and becomes a part of the daily experiences upon which it feeds. Fear, the worst of all enemies, can be effectively cured by forced repetition of acts of courage. Everyone who has seen acts of service in war knows this
  • Overcoming Fear (Think & Grow Rich)
    • Before I can put any portion of this philosophy into successful use, my mind must be prepared to receive it. The preparation is not difficult. It begins with study, analysis, and understanding of three enemies which I shall have to clear out. These are Indecision, Doubt, and Fear!
    • Indecision is the seedling of Fear! Remember this, as I read. Indecision crystalizes into Doubt, the two blend and become Fear! The "blending" process often is slow. This is one reason why these three enemies are so dangerous. They germinate and grow without their presence being observed
    • Do not be deceived by the habits of these subtle enemies. Sometimes they remain hidden in the subconscious mind, where they are difficult to locate, and still more difficult to eliminate

[97] Feeling is the Secret

Neville Goddard

The answer is always in front of my face. A lot of times I invest my time, energy, resources, and opportunity cost to go out into areas beyond my current scope of opportunity only to realize that when I produce results with that opportunity, that in retrospect the opportunity was always in front of my face. Life is a journey of gratitude and really valuing what I have

Introduction

  • He that would perfect himself in any art whatsoever, will let him betake himself to the reading of some sure and certain work upon his art many times over; for to read many books upon your art produces confusion rather than understanding

Law and Its Operation

  • The world, and all within it, is man's conditioned consciousness objectified. Consciousness is the cause as well as the substance of the entire world. So it is to consciousness that we must turn if we would discover the secret of creation
  • Consciousness is the one and only reality, not figuratively, but actually. This reality may for the sake of clarity be likened unto a stream which is divided into two parts, the conscious and the subconscious. In order to intelligently operate the law of consciousness, it is necessary to understand the relationship between the conscious and the subconscious
    • The conscious generates ideas and impresses these ideas on the subconscious; the subconscious receives ideas and gives form and expression to them
    • The subconscious does not originate ideas, but accepts as true those which the conscious mind feels to be true and, in a way known only to itself, objectifies the accepted ideas. Therefore, through his power to imagine and feel and his freedom to choose the idea he will entertain, man has control over creation. Control of the subconscious is accomplished through control of my ideas and feelings
    • By control of feeling is not meant restraint or suppression of my feeling, but rather the disciplining of self to imagine and entertain only such feeling as contributes to my happiness
    • No idea can be impressed on the subconscious until it is felt, but once felt, be it good, bad, or indifferent, it must be expressed. Feeling is the one and only medium through which ideas are conveyed to the subconscious
  • To impress the subconscious with the desirable state, I must assume the feeling that would be mine had I already realized my wish
  • Mastery of self-control of my thoughts and feelings is my highest achievement. However, until perfect self-control is attained, so that, in spite of appearances, I feel all that I want to feel, use sleep and meditation to aid me in realizing my desired states. These are the two gateways into the subconscious

Sleep

  • Sleep, the life that occupies one-third of my stay on earth, is the natural door into the subconscious. So it is with sleep that we are now concerned. The conscious two-thirds of my life on earth is measured by the degree of attention we give sleep
  • The conditions and events of my life are my children formed from the molds of my subconscious impressions in sleep. They are made in the image and likeness of my innermost feeling that they may reveal me to myself
  • Once asleep, man has no freedom of choice. His entire slumber is dominated by his last waking concept of self. It follows, therefore, that he should always assume the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction before he tires in sleep

Meditation

  • Meditation is an illusion of sleep which diminishes the impression of the outer world and renders the mind more receptive to suggestion from within. The mind in prayer is in a state of relaxation and receptivity akin to the feeling attained just before dropping off to sleep
  • My meditation must be answered if I assume the feeling that would be mine were I already in possession of my objective. The moment I accept the wish as an accomplished fact, the subconscious finds means for its realization. To pray successfully then, I must yield to the wish, that is, feel the wish fulfilled
  • The perfectly disciplined man is always in tune with the wish as an accomplished fact

Feeling

  • There is a definite feeling associated with every idea in the mind of man
  • I never attract that which I want, but always that which I am
  • All I can possibly need or desire is already mine. I need no helper to give it to me; it is mine now. Call my desires into being by imagining and feeling my wish fulfilled. As the end is accepted, I become totally indifferent as to possible failure, for acceptance of the end wills the mans to that end

[96] The Power of Now

Eckhart Tolle

The deeper the book, the more I will read it, the more I internalize it, the more I realize I don't understand it. The more I implement it, the more the book actually changes, or my awareness goes on to certain parts of it that I didn't grasp before because I was not ready for it yet

I am not my mind

  • My mind is an instrument, a tool. It is there to be used for a specific task, and when the task is completed, I lay it down. As it is, I would say about 80 to 90 percent of most people's thinking is not only repetitive and useless, but because of its dysfunctional and often negative nature, much of it is also harmful. Observe my mind and I will find this to be true. It causes a serious leakage of vital energy
    • Many people have formed identities with the mind; constantly thinking about concepts, ideas, the future and past, always thinking
    • I am not my mind, it is a tool. I can use this tool to create and further my purpose
  • Identification with my mind causes thought to become compulsive
    • I don't want to think more, I want to think effectively
  • To the ego, the present moment hardly exists. Only past
    • The ego is a naturally born gift that is meant to be grappled with in order to fully recognize how powerful I am and can be
    • The more success that I have, the more the ego will begin to creep up and try to outwit me
    • The ego is not me, so I must not identify with the ego

Consciousness: The way out of pain

  • The pain that I create now is always some form of nonacceptance, some form of unconscious resistance to what is. On the level of thought, the resistance is some form of judgement. On the emotional level, it is some form of negativity. The intensity of the pain depends on the degree of resistance to the present moment, and this in turn depends on how strongly I am identified with my mind. The mind always seeks to deny the Now and to escape from it. In other words, the more I am identified with my mind, the more I suffer. Or I may put it like this: the more I am able to honor and accept the Now, the more I am free of pain, of suffering, and free of the egoic mind
    • I understand that what's happening right now is what's happening right now, and I am not going to connect that in my mind to stories from my past or ego-based identifications to create anger, resentment, frustration, or anything disempowering. Rather, I will accept the way it is right now and recognize that it is the ego that is attaching to certain kinds of grief and that is not me. This realization allows me to steer myself out of that way and no longer feel it to that magnitude or identify with that negativity
  • If I no longer want to create pain for myself and others, if I no longer want to add to the residue of past pain that still lives on in me, then don't create any more time, or at least no more than is necessary to deal with the practical aspects of my life. How do I stop creating time? Realize deeply that the present moment is all I ever have
    • I recognize that time does exist, however the most important thing that I am doing is what I am doing right now, in this present moment. Doing so allows me to feel more gratitude, noticing how everything is more vibrant and the experience is improved overall. Then, when I hit my goals, I will value what I hit
  • Accept, then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if I had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it my friend and ally, not my enemy. This will miraculously transform my whole life
    • The key is to accept what happens right now and then from there act. I will be equipped to make a better decision because I am basing it from my source energy, and I am not basing that action based on fear, anger, resentment, or anything else that is an aspect that was constructed through time, past experiences, or stories generated by the mind for the ego

Moving deeply into the now

  • Have I ever experienced, done, thought, or felt anything outside the Now? Do I think I ever will? Is it possible for anything to happen or be outside the Now? The answer is obvious, is it not? Nothing ever happened in the past; it happened in the Now. Nothing will ever happen in the future; it will happen in the Now
    • Time construct: There is a past and there is a future, but anything that ever happens, happens in the now
  • All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present. Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry, all forms of fear, are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence
    • If I am holding onto any of these, I am uncalibrated. If I start to remove these aspects, then I am now centered and grounded in the Now
  • I think that my attention is in the present moment when it's actually taken up completely by time. I cannot be both unhappy and fully present in the Now
    • If I am unhappy, then I am not in the Now. I need to do things to bring myself into the Now. Examples include meditation, connecting with people, conversing with others where I am focused on listening and understanding their perspective in order to learn who they are while working with the energy of the conversation

Mind strategies for avoiding the now

  • Wherever I am, be there totally. If I find my here and now intolerable and makes me unhappy, then I have three options: Remove myself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally. If I want to take responsibility for my life, I must choose one of those three options, and I must choose now. Then accept the consequences. No excuses. No negativity. No psychic pollution. Keep my inner space clear
  • Die to the past every moment. I don't need it. Only refer to it when it is absolutely relevant to the present. Feel the power of this moment and the fullness of Being. Feel my presence
  • "One day, I'll make it." Is my goal taking up so much of my attention that I reduce the present moment to a means to an end? Is it taking the joy out of my doing? Am I waiting to start living? If I develop such a mind pattern, no matter what I achieve or get, the present will never be good enough; the future will always seem better. A perfect recipe for permanent dissatisfaction and nonfulfillment

The state of presence

  • As long as I am in a state of intense presence, I am free of thought. I am still, yet highly alert. The instant my conscious attention sinks below a certain level, thought rushes in. the mental noise returns; the stillness is lost. I am back in time
  • In a sense, the state of presence could be compared to waiting. Jesus used the analogy of waiting in some of his parables. This is not the usual bored or restless kind of waiting that is a denial of the present and that I spoke about already. It is not a waiting in which my attention is focused on some point in the future and the present is perceived as an undesirable obstacle that prevents me from having what I want. There is a qualitative different kind of waiting, one that requires my total alertness. Something could happen at any moment, and if I am not absolutely awake, absolutely still, I will miss it. This is the kind of waiting Jesus talks about
    • Within my awareness right now, there is opportunity. The problem is that I do not see it. I don't see it because maybe I am too fixated on to my past and I am forming an identity around it, right now. Maybe, I am thinking about what I have to do in the future, therefore I am not valuing what is right now. If this is the case, then how many opportunities am I missing out on in all areas of my life?
  • Many people are so imprisoned in their minds that the beauty of nature does not really exist for them. They might say, "What a pretty flower," but that's just a mechanical mental labeling. Because they are not still, not present, they don't truly see the flower, don't feel its essence, its holiness, just as they don't know themselves, don't feel their own essence, their own holiness

The inner body

  • The feeling of my inner body is formless, limitless, and unfathomable. I can always go into it more deeply
  • Whenever I am waiting, wherever it may be, use that time to feel the inner body. In this way, traffic jams and line-ups become very enjoyable. Instead of mentally projecting myself away from the Now, go more deeply into the Now by going more deeply into the body. "The art of inner-body awareness will develop into a completely new way of living, a state of permanent connectedness with Being, and will add a depth to my life that I have never known before"
  • If I keep my attention in the body as much as possible, I will be anchored in the Now. I won't lose myself in the external world, and I won't lose myself in my mind. Thoughts and emotions, fears and desires may still be there to some extent, but they won't take me over

Portals into the unmanifested

  • Chi is the inner energy field of my body. It is the bridge between the outer me and the Source. It lies halfway between the manifested, the world of form, and the unmanifested. Chi can be likened to a river or an energy stream. If I take the focus of my consciousness deeply into the inner body, I am tracing the course of this river back to its Source. Chi is movement; the unmanifested is stillness. When I reach a point of absolute stillness, which is nevertheless vibrant with life, I have gone beyond the inner body and beyond chi to the Source itself, the unmanifested. Chi is the link between the unmanifested and the physical universe
  • Now, let my spiritual practice be this: As I go about my life, don't give 100 percent of my attention to the external world and to my mind. Keep some within. I have spoken about this already. Feel the inner body even when engaged in everyday activities, especially when engaged in relationships or when I am relating with nature. Feel the stillness deep inside. Keep the portal open. It is quite possible to be conscious of the unmanifested throughout my life. I feel it as a deep sense of peace somewhere in the background, a stillness that never leaves me, no matter what happens out there. I become a bridge between the unmanifested and the manifested, between the Source and the world. This is the state of connectedness with the Source that I call enlightened

Enlightened relationships

  • Unless and until I access the consciousness frequency of presence, all relationships, and particularly intimate relationships, are deeply flawed and ultimately dysfunctional. They may seem perfect for a while, such as when I am "in love," but invariably that apparent perfection gets disrupted as arguments, conflicts, dissatisfaction, and emotional or even physical violence occur with increasing frequency
  • Can I change an addictive relationship into a true one?
    • Yes. Being present and intensifying my presence by taking my attention ever more deeply into the Now: Whether I am living alone or with a partner, this meaning the key
    • The greatest catalyst for change in a relationship is complete acceptance of my partner as he or she is, without needing to judge or change them in any way. That immediately take some beyond ego. All mind games and all addictive clinging are then over. There are no victims and no perpetrators anymore, no accuser and accused. This is also the end of all codependency, of being drawn into somebody else's unconscious pattern and thereby enabling it to continue
  • If I both agree that the relationship will be my spiritual practice, so much the better. I can then express my thoughts and feelings to each other as soon as they occur, or as soon as a reaction comes up, so that I do not create a time gap in which an unexpressed or unacknowledged emotion or grievance can fester and grow
  • If I cannot be at ease with myself when I am alone, I will seek a relationship to cover up my unease. I can be sure that the unease will then reappear in some other form within the relationship, and I will probably hold my partner responsible for it

Beyond happiness and unhappiness there is peace

  • Happiness depends on conditions being perceived as positive; inner peace does not
  • Whenever anything negative happens to me, there is a deep lesson concealed within it, although I may not see it at the time. Even a brief illness or an accident can show me what is real and unreal in my life, what ultimately matters and what doesn't
  • Ego is the unobserved mind that runs my life when I am not present as the witnessing consciousness, the watcher. The ego perceives itself as a separate fragment in a hostile universe, with no real inner connection to any other being, surrounded by other egos which it either sees as a potential threat or which it will attempt to use for its own ends. The basic ego patterns are designed to combat its own deep-seated fear and sense of lack. They are resistance, control, power, greed, defense, attack. Some of the ego's strategies are extremely clever, yet they never truly solve any of its problems, simply because the ego itself is the problem
  • I can still be active and enjoy manifesting and creating new forms and circumstances, but I won't be identified with them. I do not need them to give me a sense of self. They are not my life, only my life situation

The meaning of surrender

  • To some people, surrender may have negative connotations, implying defeat, giving up, failing to rise to the challenges of life, becoming lethargic, and so on. True surrender, however, is something entirely different. It does not mean to passively put up with whatever situation I find myself in and to do nothing about it. Nor does it mean to cease making plans or initiating positive action. Surrender is the simple, but profound wisdom of yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life. The only place where I can experience the flow of life is the Now, so to surrender is to accept the present moment unconditionally and without reservation
  • If I find my life situation unsatisfactory or even intolerable, it is only by surrendering first that I can break the unconscious resistance pattern that perpetuates that situation
  • The ego is cunning, so I have to be very alert, very present, and totally honest with myself to see whether I have truly relinquished my identification with a mental position and so freed myself from my mind. If I suddenly feel very light, clear, and deeply at peace, that is an unmistakable sign that I have truly surrendered. Then observe what happens to the other person's mental position as I no longer energize it though resistance. When identification with mental positions is out of the way, true communication begins
  • "How will I know when I have surrendered?"
    • When I no longer need to ask the question

[95] Transcendental Meditation

The Miracle Power of Transcendental Meditation // Anthony Norvell

Specific forms of meditation, affirmations, and other miscellaneous lists numbered in the order that the book had them. Take the information as you will and take it one step at a time. There is a lot of information here; this should only excite you because of how much learning and progress there is to be made

Always remember: At the end of the day, this is simply one person’s ideas, advice, and recommendations that I am helping provide. Use what is given here as a catalyst to help you go within and find your own truths

How to go into transcendental meditation (TM)

  1. Go into a quiet room, burn a white candle, use incense, and sit in a comfortable chair or lay down. Repeat the sacred mantra from Tibet several times "Ohm mane padme ohm" which means, the jewel in the heart of the lotus. It is symbolic of the soul within man, which reflects God's eternal splendor and perfection
  2. Breathe deeply while repeating the mantra. Speak aloud or gently hum it. Close your eye.
  3. Mentally visualize a quiet lake that extends from the sides of your temples, engulfing the entire world. This lake is analogous to your mind. Don't let rocks (thoughts) disrupt your lakes surface. Push disturbing thoughts below the surface to keep the tranquility.
  4. Breathe deeply to the count of 4. Hold the breath for a moment or so, then gently release it like a deep sigh. Repeat x5-10 to feel elevation and mental exhilaration (entering a deep state of TM) known as the Alpha state
  5. Direct your mind and body to obey your every command. Give your mind commands to now control your heartbeat. Tell your mind that you want to lower or raise your blood pressure
  6. If you want to use TM for purposes other than controlling the body or healing physical sickness, then you need to consciously guide your mind into the channel of thought you wish it to follow. When you have consciously selected this pattern of thinking, it goes into the autonomic system of subconscious control and will externalize in your outer circumstances of life as dynamic forms of action
  7. You may use TM to project your inner subjective dreams to the outer objective world of reality
  8. Sit in regular periods of meditation for at least fifteen minutes a day. Go into the Alpha stage of meditation. Mentally project the goals you wish to have. See it in all its details.
  9. You can use TM to project any material possession you desire. It can be projected to the Cosmic mind, and they will gradually materialize their physical equivalents for you.

How to program your new destiny through TM

  1. Invoke the law of cosmic order in your life daily through meditation. When you go into the stillness say to your confused mind, "Peace. Be still. Be still and know that I am God." This statement of positive force helps focus mental and physical power. As you still your mind and put your mental house in perfect order, mentally file all your worries, anxieties and fears into a mental filing cabinet, where they will no longer clutter up the neat appearance of your mind. As you clear this negative debris from the field of mental action you will have a feeling of calm and a sense of harmony within yourself
  2. When you start your day's activities, sit for 5 minutes in meditation and program that day's activities . Make out a list, like you do when shopping, and list the various actions for that day
  3. Each day, while in meditation, build the cosmic magnet of success and abundance. This is done by magnetizing your brain centers with all the facets of success, mental, physical, material, and spiritual. Dwell on success in all its many aspects.
  4. Before going into meditation, write down a list of the 10 things you want more than anything else in the world.
    • I desire the following things:
    • I want happiness in all activities
    • I want to connect with my higher self
    • I want to attract the right women into my life
    • I want to heal those in need of healing
    • I want to have no fear
    • I would like to improve my personality and become more magnetic and attractive
    • I want to attract the right friends and have the type of social life I enjoy
    • I want financial independence and freedom from working for another man
    • I want to bring joy to those around me
    • I want to have confidence in all actions I make
  5. Take into meditation a regimen of positive mental habits that you wish to build and program them into your higher mind centers daily
    • This schedule can be a daily regimen:
    • Today I shall invoke the law of divine order and harmony in my life. My thoughts and actions are all in accordance with order, harmony and balance
    • This day I shall clear up all unfinished business in my mind and my environment
    • Today I shall meditate on the good that I expect from life. I am expectant of my good from many channels. I see every situation as ultimately leading to good, no matter its present negative appearances. My mind is now molded with the image of pleasant experiences and goodness
    • This day I shall meditate on beauty in all its many forms. I am aware of inner spiritual beauty that radiates from my soul and blesses every person I meet. I am conscious of the overpowering beauty in nature and I am in harmony with the mystical forces that create the majesty and wonder of nature, with its multi-colored flowers, its graceful trees, its magnificent oceans, rivers and lakes. I am one with this pageant of loveliness
    • I shall meditate today on the emotion of love and its effect on my life. I was created in the magic circle of divine love and I express love all day to every person I meet. God is love, and this knowledge banishes the negative effects of hate, jealousy, suspicion, and unfriendliness
    • Today I shall meditate on the virtues of morality, charity and kindness. I strive to conduct myself on a high moral and ethical basis, knowing of the cosmic law of balance and harmony. I give to others of my joy, my smiles, my encouragement and praise and in turn I receive friendship, love and happiness. I strive to perfect my personality and achieve idealism in all facets of my being
    • In my meditation today, I shall dwell on the mystery back of life, the nature of God, the human soul and the purpose behind my mystical journey through time and space. I am aware of my oneness with cosmic mind and I now respond with faith in the power and with joy and wonder at the miracles that express themselves in my daily life
  6. Knowledge is power. Each day, make it a point to program into your higher mind centers some new form of knowledge that you can use to shape your future destiny. As you meditate on higher knowledge, your brain centers will become magnetized with a new sense of power and it will add immeasurably to your life experience
  7. Each day, program into your higher mind centers positive emotions and break the mold of past negative thoughts and habits
  8. Program, each day, a sense of your true value and build the self-image of poise, confidence and magnetism in your personality
  9. Use the Lotus Blossom meditation each day to give your mind a sense of lofty purpose and an elevation of spirits. Visualize a beautiful lotus blossom attached to you at your side; see it at the 3 ft level for everyday inspiration. The lotus is the symbol of beauty, spiritual perfection and the soul's reflection of God. When you want higher levels of inspiration for creative work, meditate on the lotus in the 5 ft position. As the lotus is elevated, your mind will follow suite and your spirits will be inspired to create in the image of its beauty and perfection
  10. Infuse your higher mind with the power of faith. Realize that your faith can heal you of any negative condition in your life

How to expand your mind through meditation

  1. Go into Alpha meditation
  2. Control the thoughts by choosing one thought at a time and concentrate all your powers of mind on that one thought. Control your nerves and body by holding still for 5 minutes at a time. Look at a spot on the wall and direct all of your mental and nervous energy to that spot.
  3. Purification and regeneration. Breathe slowly through the nostrils to the count of 4. Hold the breath to the count of 4, then push in your diaphragm and expel the breath in one count. Do this 10-15 reps in 3 sets throughout the day
  4. Dedication. Each morning, when you awaken, do the above breathing and then give yourself a dedication ceremony which will unite you with the source of all power back of life
  5. Elevation or absorption in the light. Sit in meditation and visualize a mountain in the distance, rising majestically from the plains, then mentally ascend that mountain, starting with the awareness of the lowlands through which you must traverse. Only when man is able to release himself from this earthbound existence and soar into the illimitable realms of imagination is he able to obtain freedom from life's burdens and cares

  6. Sit in meditation and concentrate your mind power on the rich, wonderful new experiences you wish to attract

  7. If you want to increase your good or enrich your pocketbook, sit in meditation and project the good, the money or the wonderful experiences you desire. Climb the spiritual mountain top and meditate on the reality of the things you desire. Visualize yourself attracting the experiences you want, see yourself meeting the people you want for friends, mentally see yourself achieving the goal you have set for yourself, or doing the work you feel should be yours. As you sit in meditation, say to yourself quietly and with faith,

    • I now rise in consciousness to my rightful domain and achieve every good and beautiful thing that God desires for me and my life
  8. To banish loneliness, to win friends and love, to acquire thrilling life experiences, sit in meditation and elevate your mind to the planes of inspiration and beauty. Affirm to yourself,

    • I am encircled by an aura of friendship and love. I magnetize friends and loved ones. I project beauty, inspiration, and love and I become a magnet attracting to myself that which I now hold in consciousness
  9. As you go into daily meditation concentrate your mind on beautiful, inspiring and idealistic thoughts. A good way to do this is to write down brief quotes about love, joy, peace, beauty, friendship, happiness and good, and then in meditation run these through your mind, letting their full import and meaning lodge in your consciousness

  10. When you go into meditation it is also a good thing for you to occasionally take a mental inventory of what thoughts are there and then have a good mental housecleaning

How to enter Alpha healing state of brain wave control

You can begin this process of meditation by using the ancient Mantra from Tibet, "Ohm mane padme ohm." Say it aloud ten to fifteen times with your eyes closed. You can create an atmosphere for meditation similar to your own private shrine, with a candle burning, a sacred relic or cross before you, and a fragrant incense burning or some sweet smelling scent in your room. This helps elevate the psycho-neuro centers of the brain and releases the mind from stress and strain

Then as you sit in meditation invoke the mental image of the spiritual lake, in which you mentally project the picture of a beautiful lake without a ripple on its surface. Now mentally see your mind as that lake. Hold the image of stillness and let your mind and body become peaceful and still. The moment a worry, fear or negative thought arises in your mind, it is as if a wave had risen on the mental lake. Carefully push the ripple back down into the body of the lake and say a quiet statement to yourself,

  • My mind is now as still and peaceful as that mental lake. I am now submerging all my cares and worries in the body of the lake. I overcome all tensions and bodily pains. The creative healing power now flows from my higher mind centers to my body and I am being healed of all discord and disease

How to control your body through meditation

  1. Each day put yourself into the Alpha brain wave pattern by closing your eyes several times a day and going into a few moments of meditation. Repeat to yourself the words:
  2. Be still, and know that I am God.
    • Then keep telling your mind to remain still and peaceful
  3. Then visualize the spiritual lake extending from the sides of your temples and encompassing the whole world. Then mentally submerge your worries, fears and anxieties into the body of the lake until it is perfectly smooth. Now see your mind as the surface of that lake, like a mirror, reflecting the blue skies and the golden sun.
  4. Breathe deeply ten or fifteen times giving yourself the following meditation, saying the words to yourself of aloud:
    • I am peaceful and still. My problems and worries are now submerged in the cosmic lake where they are being dissolved and returned to their native nothingness. I am serene in the midst of life's worries and my mind now reflects the golden light of God's Infinite Presence. I am surrounded by the magic circle of love and peace and beauty and I am free, free, free.
  5. If you are suffering from some physical disability, and you feel that some organ is affected, go into quiet meditation and then direct the life intelligence and blood to go to that organ healing it perfectly. If it is the heart, say to your higher mind:
    • You will now cause the blood to flow to my heart, carrying its life forces there and healing it perfectly
    • Change the words to fit your particular need
  6. If it is a bad habit that you wish to overcome use the same technique that was given for overcoming the smoking habit
    • If it is a problem of heavy drinking, go into meditation and say the following statement:
    • I realize drinking excessively is harmful to my health. I wish to lose all desire for alcohol. I now urge my higher mind to cause me to lose all liking for alcohol in any form. If I take a drink I shall find the taste unpleasant and put it down at once
    • If it is a problem with gambling, sit in meditation each day for fifteen minutes or so and repeat the following statement:
    • I know that gambling is destructive and unproductive. You cannot get something for nothing in life. I now ask my higher mind to rid me of the desire for gambling
  7. To raise the body's energy level and overcome fatigue and aging, go into meditation and mentally elevate yourself to high levels of creativity by visualizing yourself doing the things you desire, such as swimming, dancing, playing a sport. Give your higher mind commands such as this one:
    • The life force flows through my mind and body cells, giving me youth, energy and a superabundance of vitality. I now order my higher mind centers to release the chemistry of youth within my body. I am ageless and timeless and my soul is immortal. I shall live to be one hundred years of age with all my faculties and a zest for life

Ten Dynamic Laws of Meditation make for a healthy, happy life experience

    • To overcome hatred, greed, selfishness and other negative emotions, go into a moment of quiet meditation and affirm to your higher mind centers:

I am one with infinite joy and know the supreme happiness that comes when one has discovered the divine romance that lasts throughout eternity.

Five simple steps to make your mind a Money Magnet

  1. Each day meditate on magnetizing your brain centers with the success theme. Study business magazines for new ideas; review old methods used in business and see how you can improve on them. Desire success and concentrate each day for at least fifteen minutes on money and how to get more
  2. Sit in meditation and go on a mental shopping spree. Visualize yourself buying the car that you desire; see yourself driving it and visiting places you want to go. Mentally buy the dream home you want to live in.
  3. Carry in your pocketbook a check made out to yourself for one million dollars. Sign it God, the Universal Banker. Put your name on it and every time you open your pocketbook and see that check you are magnetizing your brain centers with the thought that God is your source of supply and abundance. Meditate each day on this fact and see the vast cornucopia of the universe filled with treasures and pouring into your mind and your environment every good and wondrous gift that you desire.
  4. Occasionally put yourself into the atmosphere of wealth and opulence. Go to a good restaurant occasionally and observe how rich people live. Learn multimillionaire methods, their thoughts, their philosophies and then try to emulate some of their principles and apply them to your own life
  5. When you meditate on success and money do not simply ask for money, but have some reason why you want money. This is called Cosmic Motivation and gives an added impetus to your mind to make a fortune for some specific purpose.
    • There are three cosmic motivators on which you should meditate each day:
    • A desire to help yourself or your family
    • A desire to create beauty for the world
    • A desire to educate, uplift, inspire and improve the world to higher levels of civilization
    • Sit in meditation each day and put in the forefront of your mind one or more of these cosmic motivators. Affirm to yourself:
    • I am now inspired to creative action and the building of a fortune for the purpose of helping my family, of creating beauty for the world, and to uplift and improve the standards of humanity, to abolish war, to create peace and otherwise bring God's blessings to the world.

Regime to Increase your Income and Grow Rich

  1. Take a mental inventory of the universal treasures
  2. If you have not had any luck in using your conscious mind to attract success and riches, try meditation and contact the higher, subconscious mind for this purpose. Sit in meditation for fifteen minutes a day and give your subconscious mind the instructions for this purpose:
    • I now call upon my subconscious mind to guide me automatically to obtaining wealth. I instruct it to give me ideas at night while I sleep, and during the day, on how to increase my income and become more successful. I desire the sum of $1,000 within two months time from unexpected sources.
  3. Program your higher mind with the positive idea that riches are all about you and that it is easy to become successful and rich.
  4. Whenever you ride a bus, taxi or subway, affirm:
    • I now possess the greatest limousine in the world and it is chauffeured for me and efficiently meets my needs.
    • Whenever you walk in a park, remind yourself:
    • This is my free estate and I now claim it. I am richer than Rockefeller.
  5. Each time you turn on your TV or radio set meditate on this reality:
    • This program has been especially prepared for me by skilled artists and workmen. I now accept a million dollar entertainment from a billion dollar industry and I am enriched, entertained and educated by this program
  6. Each time you walk into an art gallery, a public library, or a museum silently affirm to your riches as follows:
    • I accept these billions of dollars worth of treasures as mine. I now enjoy this heritage of the thousands of creative minds that have labored to bring me beauty, inspiration, education, and culture. I am blessed and enriched by this knowledge.
  7. Every time you look at some magnificent scene in nature and enjoy a sunrise or sunset, or a vista of the ocean stretching out to the distant horizon, or the starlit sky, with its full moon, stop for a moment and remind yourself in quiet meditation of how truly rich you are and how you have inherited the universe and all therein:
    • Father, I thank thee for all these blessings of natural beauty. I marvel at the golden sun. I absorb the infinite beauty of stars and moon and the silvery splendor spread upon the earth's seas for my enjoyment. I absorb the wonder of cerulean blue skies, oceans reaching out to infinity and the cosmic wonder of all created things which have been brought forth for my delectation and use.

How to achieve the 4 stages of Mystic Meditation for Psychic and Clairvoyant Perception

  1. In your first stage of meditation sit quietly for a few moments and put yourself into the Alpha state. Be aware that you possess a higher mind than your conscious mind. As you hold your mind still, visualize the lake and see its surface calm and still. As you contemplate on mind be aware every time a disturbing or negative thought rises to the surface of consciousness. When you have achieved absolute stillness of your conscious mind, your higher psychic faculties will be opened and will make their revelations to your consciousness.
  2. When you have achieved this absolute stillness of the Alpha brain wave state, you may ask your higher psychic centers various questions and await the answers. You may not receive an immediate answer while sitting in meditation, so go about your regular activities and the answer may come about in the most unexpected way.
  3. Telepathic communication with others is now scientifically proved to be possible. When you wish to project your thoughts to the mind of another person, sit in quiet meditation. Remove all worries and anxieties from your mind. Relax your mind and body by saying the mystic mantra from Tibet. Do this ten to fifteen times, breathing deeply as you do so. The breath furnishes the electrical and magnetic motive power for transmission or reception of thought. Hold the face of the person in the forefront of your mind as you project your thought. Then say your words to yourself or aloud.
  4. To receive the thoughts of others go into the stillness and meditate on the person you wish to be in communication with. This type of meditation can be indulged any time of the day or night, and it does not matter if the person is thousands of miles away. As you hold the person's face in mind, feel the emotions that you would normally feel if you were with the person. Then, sit quietly and let thoughts pour into your mind. When you are psychically attuned to the person you will have a feeling of oneness, and your mind will feel it is being given thoughts from an outer source.
  5. To participate in the psychic phenomena known as clairvoyance and clairaudience, you go into the stillness and hold your mind perfectly calm and still. Then let pictures pass through your mind, without any conscious direction or control on your part. Many times you will feel that you are merely using your imagination, but very often you are running in on actual clairvoyant images that have been released by someone's mind.
  6. To receive predictions of your future, known as precognition, sit in meditation and ask for your higher, psychic mind to unfold the design of your future destiny. As everything you will ever do is inscribed on the akashic record of your spiritual self, these events and incidents will unravel before your psychic gaze very much like pictures that are projected by a motion picture projector on a screen. Start this process of precognition by deliberately holding certain scenes in your mind and then asking this higher psychic mind to reveal something to you about the events which will occur. Sit in stillness and meditate on the reality back of life. See your life unfolding progressively to its ultimate and logical conclusion. Your soul will know of its mystical purpose for living and reveal to you the golden tapestry of dreams which can make up your glorious future destiny.

How to go into the Dreamless Sleep Meditation

  1. Prepare yourself as though you were going into a little sleep. Breathe deeply and rhythmically, counting four as you inhale, then hold the breath for a count of four, then release the breath. Inhale through nose, exhale through mouth
  2. With your eyes closed, visualize the spiritual mountain top in the distance. Form the mental image of a mountain and then mentally ascend up that mountain by gradual stages. As you begin to climb up from the lowlands of pain, sickness, mortal suffering, war, and death, meditate as follows:
    • I now ascend the spiritual mountain top, rising above the lowlands of mortal mind suffering and pain. I aspire now to the limitless celestial realms where I can expand my consciousness to encompass eternity. No life experience can now hold my aspiring soul. I rise above all problems and all physical obstructions, into the spiritual stratosphere where I find the true reality back of life. All my earth experiences now become as dreams, fading away into their native nothingness, and I enter into the state of Sushupti, the eternal Dream where I partake of God's consciousness and immortality. I am free of suffering. I am free of pain. I am free of earthly loss and bereavement. I know only eternal joy and ecstasy as I now achieve the spiritual mountain top and find God's dwelling place.
  3. To achieve the state of Sushupti meditation for controlling the body and its functions, go into quiet meditation, visualizing the spiritual mountain top. Then, mentally force your mind to any part of your body that you wish to control. Command:
    • I now direct my psychic energy and life force to my (body part). I remove all thoughts of fear and anxiety from my mind and I am in perfect health.
  4. To overcome insomnia and go to sleep immediately, use the meditation of Sushupti as follows:
    • Lie in your bed in a perfectly relaxed state and breathe ten or fifteen times, deeply and exhaling the breath as though you are sighing. Gently close your eyes and meditate as follows:
    • I now enter the dreamless sleep of Sushupti. My mind is peaceful and still. I now ascend the spiritual mountain top. I am relaxed and feel a deep sense of peace and tranquility. I am one with all the cosmic forces of peace, beauty, love, and joy. I rise now and ascend to the supernal heights as my body becomes lighter and I float away, as though on a cloud. Peace, peace, peace.
  5. To solve problems and daily worries, go into the state of meditation known as Sushupti as follows:
    • Sit quietly in a chair, or lie on your bed. Close your eyes and do the deep breathing ten or fifteen times. Then, make your body rigid for a few seconds, and then relax your body. Do this four or five times, until you are relaxed from head to toe. Then, give yourself the following meditation, as you keep your eyes closed:
    • I am now withdrawing my sense perceptions from the outer world of problems and turmoil. I am now within my own cathedral of the soul, where my senses are lulled into a state of perpetual peace. Through the stained glass windows of my soul I now meditate on the golden glow of God's eternal presence. My mind and body are now suffused with the light of peace, infinite love and truth. I rise now to the spiritual mountain top, leaving the shadow-filled lowlands of mortal mind despair far behind me.
    • Then, have a feeling of rising, as though going up in an airplane, until you feel a sense of complete detachment from the world and its problems.
  6. To release creative power and enhance your imagination for some special inspiration, you can use the meditation of Sushupti. Sit in meditation for special creative powers and quietly treat your higher mind centers with this meditation: I now suspend my conscious mind and open my creative centers of vision and imagination. I am now a channel for the reception of new and wonderful ideas for my work. I am in the center of a creative whirlpool and my imagination is now stimulated to create something of great and enduring beauty for the world.
  7. You can use the meditation of Sushupti to release what the mystics of India call the Celestial Pranic Fire within your brain and body. This is helpful for achieving absolute mastery of your brain and body. It is used to control the nervous energy of the body. It is helpful for removing obstacles and disturbing elements from your environment. It can be used to create a dynamic personality of magnetism, poise, charm, and power.
    • Sit in meditation and breathe deeply ten or fifteen times. Hold the breath to a count of four. When you breathe in visualize the breath or pranic life force flowing down the left side of the spinal column. Then hold the breath to the count of four and then release the breath, visualizing the breath like a golden ball of fire rising up the right side of the spinal column. When it reaches the base of the brain, see this ball of golden flame bursting like a fireworks display and showering the entire brain area with its celestial flame.

First Sacred Meditation

Sit in the stillness and go into the first Absorption. This is known as the meditation of mind on Mind, and is for the purpose of awakening the higher mind centers to bring your mind into contact with the cosmic mind that knows all things.

  • Say the sacred Mantra from Tibet ten times aloud: Ohm mane padme ohm. Breathe deeply before you say each Mantra, and after you say the Oh, gently close your lips, holding the ohm for a few seconds, before saying the mane padme ohm. Let the vibrations rise into the head region. This gives a gentle message to the head and helps open the higher centers, known as Chakras, where the intuitive mind power resides.
    • Now meditate on your conscious mind. Be aware of memory, imagination, visualization, concentration, and all attributes of mind. Repeat the following meditation to yourself:
    • I am now aware of Mind in all its aspects. My conscious mind now makes choices of the thoughts I shall think. I am aware of memory and imagination. I now tap the hidden knowledge hat is within the cosmic memory bank. My minds now attuned to the higher cosmic mind that knows all, sees all and is all things. I release the power of my imagination. I am in the light of creative mind power. I concentrate all the power of m mind on memory retention, on mental images of the world I wish to create. I live in the mental world of my own choice. I project thought forms of health, and my body responds with vitality and energy. I project thought forms of success and riches, and I am guided to the more abundant life. I project thought forms of superior mental power and I become creative.

Second Sacred Meditation

For a high degree of superior mental and spiritual power, the initiate in sacred meditation in the Yoga schools of philosophy, is taken into the second stage of absorption with the Light.

  • Sit in the stillness as before, and repeat the sacred Mantra Ohm mane padme ohm. When your mind is perfectly still, indulge in contemplation of the mind on body and all its attributes. Quietly project your thoughts into a rhythm, which is measured on the EEG as between eight to twelve cycles per second and known as the Alpha state.
    • This is the meditation to use when you wish to achieve healing powers to overcome specific physical ailments. It is to be used to enhance the five senses so you will see, hear, feel, taste, and smell with increased sensitivity.
    • This is the meditation to use when you wish to overcome some negative habit, such as smoking, alcoholism, or gambling.
    • As you sit in meditation, put yourself in the Alpha state by seeing the spiritual lake, without a ripple on its surface. Then, with your eyes closed, say the following meditation. You may read this at first, until you memorized it, then, whenever you wish to achieve the Alpha state of meditation you say this meditation:
    • I am now going into the Alpha state of meditation. I see the spiritual lake, and my mind becomes as peaceful and still as that lake. I now contemplate the power of mind on body and all my five senses. I am aware of my mind in all its aspects. A higher power now flows through the creative centers of mind making me superior consciously and subconsciously. All the organs of my body now respond to this flow of cosmic mind power. I contemplate my eyes and know that they are the perfect channels for my perception of the world about me. I now relax my conscious mind and let the higher power flow through my eyes, seeing everything perfectly.
    • When you meditate on the eyes, breathe deeply ten or fifteen times, sending the pranic life force up the spinal column and shooting it over the top of the head to the forefront of your head. At the same time open the eyes and close them with the feeling that you are shooting sparks through your eyeballs. This gently massages the eyeballs and helps contract and expand the optic lens, and helps improve the optic nerve.

Third Sacred Meditation

This meditation consists in contemplation on the cosmic virtues and qualities of mind.

Truth

Meditate on the first virtue for five minutes - TRUTH. Say the following meditation:

  • I now contemplate Truth. I reflect truth in my daily life. I am true to myself and to others. I recognize cosmic truth as the unifying principle back of the universe. ####Good For five minutes meditate on the quality of goodness as follows:
  • I now reflect good in my thoughts, words, and deeds. God is good, and when I operate under the law of Goodness, I am Godly. My life prospers with good and I am aware that only good can overcome the negative power of evil. ####Charity Meditate on this virtue as follows for a few moments each day:
  • It is more blessed to give than to receive. I am now in the cosmic flow of good and my life is filled to overflowing with all the good things of life. #####Beauty Meditate a few moments each day on this quality, as follows:
  • I am aware of infinite beauty in all of nature. I am surrounded by God's golden presence in blooming flowers, green trees, blue skies, and distant mountains. • I am aware of the divine emotion of love, in all its cosmic facets. God is love. I am one with infinite love. I love my fellowmen, and I reflect love daily in my relations with others

Fourth Sacred Meditation

The fourth and last absorption in the light is known as the meditation on Divine Ecstasy, in which one blends with the light.

  • In this sacred meditation, light a white candle and prepare a shrine with some sacred relic that you believe in. You can have incense burning or some fragrant perfume. This helps in stimulating the higher centers of consciousness. In this meditation, open the Three petals of the Sacred Lotus Blossom. Visualize the perfect multi-colored Lotus in all its perfection. This, in the Far East, is a symbol of The Godhead in man, the ultimate perfection that resides within the immortal soul.
    • The First Petal that is opened in this meditation is one symbolical of the Omniscience of God. Meditate as follows:
    • I now open the sacred petal of omniscience. I am in the light of God's all-knowing, all-wise sacred presence. The secrets of the universe are now known to my higher mind. My soul is bathed by the golden light of cosmic spirit, and I enter into the divine romance where my soul shall dwell in perpetual union with the Light of God's infinite peace, infinite beauty, infinite good, infinite joy, and infinite love
    • The Second Petal of the sacred lotus that you now open in meditation is that of Omnipresence. Again, visualize the Lotus in all its multicolored loveliness. See the petals opening one by one, revealing the translucent beauty within that represents the imprisoned splendor of your soul. Meditate as follows, as you hold this picture in your mind of the perfection and beauty of the Lotus:
    • I now take on the omnipresence of infinite spirit that is everywhere present and knows all things. I enter into that vast cosmic realm of infinite intelligence where my soul is transported to infinite bliss in a blending with the light of Nirvana. I am above all pleasure and pain. My body and its appetites is now under control. I am all mind and intellect and spirit. I am ware of the transcendental realm of pure spirit in which my soul is transported to the celestial heights of love and ecstasy. I am one with the light.
    • The Third Petal of the sacred lotus that you can now open in meditation is Omnipotence. Meditate as follows:
    • God's infinite presence is everywhere present, in all things, and flowing through all creation in His glorious, golden Self.
    • I see His sublimity and His majesty in every towering mountain, in every flowering bush and in every fragrant tree. I hear His voice in the falling rain, the thundering waterfall, the happy song of birds at eventide. I see His golden countenance in every incandescent sunrise and sunset, in the multi-colored, fragrant flowers that bedeck the face of earth, in the glittering moonlight and star-glow that illumines the purple mantle of night. In the cascading golden light of the sun which bathes the earth and causes all things to grow to nourish and sustain mankind, I am aware of His Power and His Might.
    • I recognize His Omnipotence, His Infinite Power, and my soul reflects this cosmic splendor and pays homage to His eternity. My soul now wears its mantle of immortality with sublimity and majesty and I am one with the Light of His Infinite Presence.

Meditation to release Superconscious Mind Power

Sit quietly in meditation and meditate as follows:

  • I am aware of the supreme power back of the universe, which man calls God. I know that this Superior Mind created all things and sustains me. I now enter into the state of absorption with the light of God's infinite Presence. My mind reflects His Mind, and I am aware of superior powers working through all levels of my consciousness. I am one with the light of Truth and truth reflects in my life. I am one with the light of Peace and my life is peaceful. I am one with the light of Joy and I reflect happiness in my daily life.

The Regime to use for opening the Seven sacred Charkas through Meditation

  1. The first chakra is located in the vital zone below the navel, controlling the organs of reproduction and the vital life force
    • The physical function of this chakra is for purposes of perpetuating the human race through reproduction.
    • Emotions generated through this vital zone are often misused and degenerate into animalism, passion and lust, making man a slave to his basic sex nature
    • How to open
    • As you sit in quiet meditation, with your eyes closed, concentrate your attention to the vital zone. See the sacred lotus blossom, and mentally open three petals, meditating on the color Red, and ascribe to the three petals the qualities of Love, Inspiration, and Ecstasy. Say or think the following meditation:
    • I am now aware of the cosmic fire within my mind and body. It is now directed into its proper sphere of action as creative life force and energy. I sublimate this celestial fire into the divine emotion of love, ennobling, elevating and refining all my senses, and causing me to rises above lust, animalism, and sensuality.
    • I sublimate this divine emotion into inspiration and ecstasy. I become a creative channel and express great ideas for the good of the world. I express love unselfishly to all people and I am inspired to great creative deeds through this noble passion of love.
  2. The second chakra is located in the naval region, the stomach area. His section rules the physical and material body, with its appetite for food, its conversion of food into mental energy and creative ideas.
    • When this chakra holds man earthbound, a slave to his desire for food, he becomes a glutton, and suffers from all kinds of negative effects.
    • The purpose of this meditation is to elevate this chakra into its mental and spiritual equivalent, elevating man above the realm of animalism and physical appetites
    • How to open
    • Sit in quiet meditation, and direct your thoughts into the region of the stomach. Be aware of the true purpose and function of this vital area. It is to sustain man physically and give him power to remain healthy and strong, so he can fulfill his life function.
    • Visualize the sacred lotus blossom, and ascribe five petals to this chakra, with the color Orange. The five petals that you will open in this chakra are: Life, Vitality, Growth, Youth, Creativity.
    • Meditate as follows for opening this second chakra:
    • I now open the second chakra of consciousness. I am in attunement with the life force. My appetites are now under control of my higher mind. I transmute physical force and energy into a stream of youth and vitality that causes me to fulfill my life goal perfectly. I grow and evolve mentally, physically, and spiritually. I now convert this physical force into creativity to shape my life destiny. I release my physical energy into creative ideas of beauty, constructive good and cosmic perfection
  3. The third sacred chakra is located in the solar plexus, or what is known as the diaphragm. This is located a little above the stomach area, and controls the vital function of breathing and life prana.
    • How to open:
    • Ascribe four petals of the lotus blossom to it, and the color Green. The four petals that you will now meditate on opening are: Energy, Faith, Joy, and Hope.
    • As this area controls the life prana or breath, when you meditate draw in the breath to the count of four and hold it, count four, and then release it as a deep sigh. Then meditate as follows:
    • I now inhale the pranic life force through my breath. Breath is life and I now express energy that flows to all my brain and body cells and makes me aware of power. I have faith in the creative principle and gave me life, and I express that faith daily in my life. I am joyous with the flame of life, and I become infused with the creative spirit of joy. I now express hope for the future and am optimistic and radiant, in the knowledge that I am in tune with the creative spirit of the universe.
  4. The fourth sacred chakra is located in the heart area and is known as the heart wheel. To it ascribe the color of crimson Red, and open six petals of the Lotus: Love, Loyalty, Sincerity, Optimism, Charity, Forgiveness
    • How to open:
    • Sit in meditation and say or think the following:
    • I now direct the pranic life force to the heart wheel. This is the center of my life energy and force. I live and breathe and radiate the life force to everyone I meet. I express the divine emotion of love. I open the petals of the sacred lotus and reveal the jewel in the heart of the lotus. I take on the quality of loyalty and sincerity. I am charitable and forgiving in my attitude towards others. I become optimistic and cheerful as I survey my future, knowing that the divine emotion of love controls and regulates all my life functions. I am peaceful and serene in the midst of life's problems.
  5. The fifth sacred chakra is located in the base of the throat area. To this meditation, ascribe the color of sunlight yellow, and open the following five petals of the Lotus Bloom: Power, Dignity, Pride, Honesty, and dynamic action.
    • As the throat is the connecting medium between the brain and body, it is a vitally important area. Here it is that the entrance to the lungs as well as to all the vital organs exist.
    • Meditate as follows, as you visualize the opening of the five petals of the lotus:
    • I now open the fifth sacred chakra, which is the gateway to mental and physical power. I project this power now to my brain, releasing its golden light to the creative centers of my consciousness. I am aware of the magical power of words with their command of life's forces. I now express pride and dignity in my evolved state of consciousness, which differentiates me from lowly animals. I rise to the heights of spiritual awareness and practice the virtue of honesty and truth, as I release the pranic life force to this area. Dynamic action, mental and physical, now is released, causing my life to be directed into channels of productivity and beauty.
  6. The sixth sacred chakra is located in the area between the eyes. Ascribe to this Chakra the astral color of Mauve or Orchid, and the following five petals of the Lotus: Beauty, Friendliness, Generosity, Happiness, and Radiance.
    • This area is known in mystic philosophy, as the third eye, where the psychic vision can be aroused. In meditation try to visualize this third eye in the forefront of the brain, and meditate as follows:
    • I now open the third eye of psychic and astral vision and project the pranic life force to my eyes and head region. I now see with the inner eye, and am aware of the true spiritual reality of all life. I meditate on beauty and my life becomes beautiful. I open the petal of friendliness and I attract friends and loved ones who share with me their good. I become generous and do good for others, and receive blessings from everyone I meet. I glow with happiness and radiance and I magnetize the centers of my consciousness so I attract only happy and wonderful experiences.
  7. The seventh sacred chakra is located in the crown of the head and is known as the Crown Chakra. The color for this chakra is Gold, and the five petals of the lotus to be opened in meditation are: Aspiration, Inspiration, Idealization, Cosmic Awareness, and Soul's Elevation.
    • I now project my concentration to the crown chakra , where reside all the powers of my mind and spirit. I breathe deeply and project the golden pranic life force up my spinal column to the base of my head, where it gushes like a golden fountain of light, illuminating my mind, my imagination, my memory, my psychic centers, and are all now opening and releasing their spiritual forces for my guidance
    • I now meditate on aspiration, and mentally climb the spiritual mount top where my consciousness is expanded to brace the entire cosmos. I breathe deeply and as I inspire the life prana, I am lifted on wings of inspiration to the loftiest ideas that man may achieve. I idealize all my life experience, striving to uplift, ennoble, dignify and beautify every thought and experience in my life. I achieve a state of cosmic awareness and I am one with infinite intelligence, infinite beauty, infinite good, infinite joy, and infinite love.
    • Now my soul has reached its zenith in mystical elevation and I am one with the cosmic mind. I am in harmony with all of life's highest spiritual forces and I have entered through the Golden Door of Brahma in to the blending with the Light. The Light is All.

How to build the Golden Aura of magnetic attraction to achieve a great destiny

When you go into meditation to create the Beta state, it is necessary that you meditate on those things that will actually stimulate your brain centers and accelerate the rhythm of the brain. Stored within the convolutions of your brain are vast funds of magnetism, lying dormant, awaiting your command to spring into motion

The Five Meditations of Magnetic Arousal

  1. Desire
    • When you arouse your mind through the emotion of desire, tremendous magnetism is released which floods your brain centers and flows to your body, expressing itself as creative action. You will be driven by magnetic and electrical impulses from your brain to your nerves and muscles, in the direction of that which you desire
    • Desire success, and magnetize it by going into meditation for five minutes as follows:
    • I now magnetize the element of success and arouse my brain centers with the thought that I shall become a great success. I wish to become famous, well-known, popular, and south after by others. I now project magnetism to my personality and become like a magnet, attracting success on every plane
  2. High Purpose or Motivation
    • Magnetism is created in your brain centers when you have a high purpose for living. This is called motivation, and when you are impelled towards some goal for some specific reason you generate more magnetism or attraction power in your aura.
    • There are two forces in gravity, which is magnetic attraction, between the earth and other planets:
    • One is the force known as attraction, the other is repulsion. When you put more positive magnetism into your aura, and less of the negative, you become more attractive and magnetic
    • If you have a desire for only money, you may attract money, but you are apt to lose out on other values in life
    • Have a desire to help others; to share your good. Want to make a fortune so you can give your family benefits, etc.
  3. Enthusiasm
    • The emotion of enthusiasm is extremely good for magnetic arousal of the higher mind centers. Each day before beginning your day's activity, magnetize your mind with this powerful emotion. A child's enthusiasm for life is what gives it such creative energy. Your blood sugar energy increases when you go into this state of meditation that arouses enthusiasm for life. Energy flows to your brain and body cells and magnetism is released when you meditate as follows:
    • I now release into my aura the magnetic quality of enthusiasm. I thrill with the joy of life. I am aware of the mystical purpose back of my existence. I now ask for higher guidance to my true destiny. I am joyous and expectant of my good. I share my enthusiasm with everyone I meet.
    • Say this over five or ten times before each day's activity begins, and carry this aura of magnetic enthusiasm with you throughout the day.
  4. Imagination
    • To build a magnetic aura and attract into your experience great and unusual events, you must utilize the gift of imagination
    • Each day meditate on releasing this quality. Go into your meditation period and hold in your mind two different states of consciousness. Visualize something ugly and unpleasant. This is a negative picture and short-circuits your mental and physical magnetism. Then visualize something beautiful and inspiring. This builds a positive magnetic charge in the storage batteries of your mind.
    • Then carry this meditation into action by saying or thinking:
    • I now use the law of spiritual transmutation to change that which is ugly into that which is beautiful. I am filled with the concept of beauty and I reflect the magnetism of creative imagination in my personality, my voice, my facial expression and in my atmosphere.
    • Then for five minutes meditate on the most beautiful things you can recall. As you build your inner concept of the greatest and most beautiful experiences in your life, you will magnetize your mind centers with these forces and you will then attract to yourself the life experiences you image.
  5. Emotional Intensity
    • You can build a magnetic and attractive aura if you meditate a few moments daily on emotional intensity. Of all human emotions that give intensity to the aura, Love is, perhaps, the most magnetic and powerful.
    • In daily meditation run through the magnet of your mind all the positive, magnetic emotions as follows:
    • I meditate on joy and radiate in my aura emotions of friendliness and good cheer towards all humanity
    • I magnetize my mind centers with the emotion of peace. I dwell in peace with the entire world and radiate serenity and joy in every person I meet
    • I concentrate my thoughts on being charitable and kind. I share my good with others and I am blessed with abundance
    • I magnetize my mind centers with sympathy, understanding, and forgiveness of others. I am tolerant of the weaknesses of others and forgive them for their unkind words and acts
    • I am surrounded by the magnetic aura of good. I attract only good and beautiful experiences in my life
    • I radiate the magnetism of truth. I am true to myself and shape my destiny by the highest ideals of truth, honesty and high morality
    • I meditate on the different aspects of love and I become loving and beloved by all people. I love God and I now serve Him and humanity in loving service and with joy

The Ten Positive Stages of Meditation that can Perform Miracles in your life

There are ten areas of consciousness that you can arouse through meditation, that can give you miracle working powers. These are:

  1. For memory retention and total recall
    • Go into the state of meditation known as Theta. To slow your brain down to this rhythm, it is necessary that you fix your attention on one thing at a time. When in Theta, close your eyes and visualize a tortoise, with its slow movements and deliberate actions. Now, in contract to the tortoise, think of a rabbit, darting here and there rapidly. The rabbit can be likened to the Alpha state of meditation, where the brain waves are from twelve to eighteen cycles per second.
    • Also, to create the Theta brain wave length, you can visualize an hour glass with grains of sand trickl9ng through it one at a time. This meditation will slow down the stream of consciousness, making it possible to focus your attention on one thing at a time and retaining its mental image, before going on to another thought.
  2. For concentration, visualization and imagination
    • This state of meditation is used for building the powers of your conscious and subconscious minds so you can more easily solve problems, select the events of your life, and release new creative patterns of imagination in your daily activities.
    • Go into the Alpha state of consciousness. Sit quietly in meditation. Relax your body and your mind completely, by letting go of all worries, anxieties, and fears. Say to yourself over and over: Peace, be still. Be still and know that I am God. Then mentally visualize the spiritual lake, peaceful and still, without a ripple on its surface.
    • Now you are ready to go into your meditation. Think or say the following words to yourself:
    • I am now in a state of absolute calm and peace. I fix my thoughts on my mind. I am aware of my imagining. I now create the new patterns of events that I wish in my life. I visualize myself being successful and prosperous. I image the type of person I wish to be. I concentrate all my faculties on cultivating new talents for creative work. I release mind power to my everyday affairs, solving all problems and achieving control of my mind, nerves, body and environment.
  3. For solving problems through rationalization
    • To open centers of consciousness to solve problems, you must go into the meditation known as the Beta state, where your brain waves are accelerated from fourteen to twenty-eight cycles per second.
    • To go into the Beta state, breathe deeply, and increase your breathing, expelling the air dynamically between your lips with a sound like the put-put-put of a motor boat. After you have done this dynamic breathing about ten or fifteen times, you will feel a sense of fulness in your head, and your heart will begin to beat a little more rapidly than formerly. You will then be in the Beta state of meditation.
    • Hold this meditation in consciousness and say or think these words to yourself:
    • I now enter the Beta state of meditation. Increase my mind's action and perception. I now call on my higher faculties of reasoning and rationalization to give the solution to the following problem.
    • Then bring the problem into the forefront of consciousness, dwelling on its several aspects briefly, without emotion, but coldly and calmly, as though it were a problem in arithmetic that you are trying to solve.
  4. For attracting success and financial security
    • Go into Gamma state of meditation. In the Gamma state of meditation you achieve a suspended state of consciousness, where you are like a sleepwalker.
    • Put yourself into the Gamma state of meditation by sitting quietly and looking at a spot above eye level on the opposite wall. Mentally go into a state of dream fantasy and project your mind into a world of spiritual reality, where you dream the things you desire into existence.
    • You create the mental and spiritual equivalents of the things you want and then project these dream patterns to the invisible cosmic protoplasm that fills the cosmos, creating there the imprints of what you want to occur in your life.
    • Within your consciousness, you must create the dream that will one day clothe itself in object reality and become the things you are dreaming into existence through the psychic somnambulism (Gamma) meditation
    • Day dreams become reality when you learn how to release the psychic power of creativity through the following meditation:
    • I now enter into the state of psychic somnambulism, where I dream with my eyes wide open. I create the gamma state of meditation, where I am in spiritual ecstasy, attuned to the cosmic mind that knows all secrets and creates all things.
    • I project now the psychic picture of my dream home, seeing it in all its reality. I mentally live in that dream home, entertain my friends there and walk through its rooms. I attend the garden of my dream home, gathering the fragrant flowers, and I sit before its fireplace on cold evenings, sharing my dream home with my friends and loved ones.
  5. For releasing creative ideas and inspiration
    • You can go into meditation and release creative ideas and inspiration for any purpose in life
    • For this meditation, go into the Alpha state and meditate as follows:
    • I am a creative center for great ideas. I now tap the hidden vein of gold within my subconscious mind and bring forth creative ideas for (here meditate on the specific field you are in for creative ideas in that field)
    • You can expand the meditation to fit other fields of endeavor, as follows:
    • I am a channel for creative ideas. I tap cosmic mind where all great thoughts are stored and I channel into my mind the illuminating ideas that great geniuses have used throughout the centuries.
    • I am inspired by ideals of creative beauty and a desire to shape things of beauty for the good of the world.
  6. For physical healing, youth and vitality
    • Go into the alpha state. Meditate as follows, as you put yourself into a state of psychic somnambulism, in which you project the inner dream of health, youth and vitality from the subjective to the objective realm:
    • I project the dream of a perfect, healthy body. I know I am created in the image and likeness of God, therefore I know I am spiritual in nature. Spirit cannot be sick, grow old or die. I now create the dream of my soul's immortality and I become perfect, healthy and everlasting.
  7. For elevating the consciousness to superior mental action
    • You can build superior mental powers and literally achieve a high I.Q. that makes you a genius, if you meditate and build your mental level of efficiency even ten percent more than it is at the present time.
    • Go into the Theta state of meditation and think or say the following words, repeating them as often as you feel you need them:
    • I now slow down the rhythm of my brain and possess perfect control of all my faculties. I am able to concentrate on one thing at a time. I desire superior mental action where my mind will function with more efficiency and accuracy. I am now a channel for the cosmic mind to work through me. My superconscious mind now taps a strata of cosmic knowledge that has been released by geniuses throughout history. I wish to emulate their patterns of greatness and achieve outstanding success in my work.
    • Meditate on thoughts of greatness and riches and use specific examples to emulate and you will elevate your consciousness to superior mental action and become a creative genius.
  8. For attracting your soul mate in love and marriage
    • Meditation helps clear the consciousness in romantic matters and gives you true insight into the character and soul quality of the person you wish for your life mate.
    • Sit in meditation just before you go to sleep, and put yourself into the Delta state. As you lie there between sleeping and waking, create a state of fantasy in which you project the following meditation, with the thought of the qualities and appearances you want in your soul mate:
    • I desire completion in my love life. I ask my higher mind to intuitively guide me to my true soul mate. I want the following qualities in my mate: honesty, idealism, beauty of soul, kindness, consideration, loyalty, and spirituality. I know there is a true soul mate that was created just for me and I now meditate on the perfect mate. As I drift off now onto he astral planes, my soul shall seek and court my soul mate, for soul speaks to soul, as star to star, and I know somewhere, waiting for me is my perfect love.
    • Then, as you drift off into sleep, your soul will receive its divine impetus which will, like a compass, turn always to the North star of divine romance.
  9. For intuition and psychic phenomena
    • The best state of meditation to go into for achieving psychic perception is the Alpha state. Your sense perceptions are all quickened by this form of meditation, and you will remove your own conscious, interfering mind, letting the higher intuitive and psychic centers give you guidance.
    • When you go into meditation for psychic guidance, you may take a piece of paper with you on which you write down some of the things you want to be guided in, such as: the choice of work, how to go into your own business, how to attract more money, where to find your true soul mate, whether you should buy or sell property or stocks at this time, etc.
    • Then, as you visualize the mental lake and see it perfectly still, meditate as follows:
    • I now ask the cosmic mind to guide me to the fulfillment of my destiny. I wish information and guidance on the following problems (Here, mentally consider each of your problems, letting your conscious mind present he problems to your higher, superconscious mind. Then, let go of the problem, and give it to this higher mind with this statement.) I now release my problems into the loving care of the God mind, knowing that I shall be guided too take the right steps to fulfill my destiny
    • Then, after meditation, go about your ordinary activities, confident that somehow, this higher mind will work out your problems perfectly.
  10. For cosmic fulfillment and spiritual completion
    • In this state of consciousness, your questing soul discovers the purpose back of life and you achieve peace of mind and peace of soul.
    • For this meditation, go into the high vibrations of the Gamma state, where you reach a state of exhilaration and spiritual ecstasy. To help you achieve this, meditate on the opening of the petals of the sacred lotus blossom. Visualize your mind and soul as that sacred bloom, opening one petal at a time, revealing all the colors of the rainbow to your wondering gaze. For this meditation,, think or say the following words:
    • Ohm mane padme ohm, Ohm mane padme ohm. I now discover the jewel in the heart of the lotus. My soul now becomes the cosmic prism through which shines the pure white beam of God's infinite light, creating a kaleidoscope of all the colors of the rainbow. I am now bathed in consciousness by the Astral colors of rose, mauve, sunlight yellow, green, ethereal blue, and crimson red. As the sacred lotus now opens its beauteous petals, I see revealed the distant vistas of the past. My soul traverses this mystical pathway to the light and I am enfolded by God's infinite beauty, surrounded by His infinite good, blessed by His infinite intelligence, and inspired by His infinite joy and Love. I am one with the light.

The method to uses to project your Soul on Astral Journeys through mystic meditation

  1. To achieve astral projection, go into the meditation known as the Delta state. To achieve this Delta state of meditation, breathe deeply ten or fifteen times. Then, mentally project your mind back through time and space to the earliest days you can remember. Review the events of the past, fixing them in your mind and living through them as though they were projected on a motion picture screen in your mind.
  2. When you have reached the deep stage of Delta meditation, and your brain rhythm has been accelerated, will your mind to project your soul back into time and space. Just as your mind has been able to recall memories on the akashic record of your brain, which are still real to you in memory recall, so too your soul can be willed to read the akashic record of the past, and fix in your mind the images of the historic march of events in the past.
  3. Now, when you have achieved this stage of meditation, visualize your soul attached to your navel, just like the umbilical cord that tied you to your mother at time of birth
  4. Now, meditate as follows, using these words, which you may memorize, or making up a similar dialogue which you hold with your soul, as you strive to project it out into the astral region:
    • I now go into deep meditation, in which I wish to achieve astral projection. I wish to explore the akashic record of the past. I want to travel to ancient lands and times and be aware of the history of those days.
    • I now command my soul to rise, achieving freedom from my physical body. And ascent into the astral realms. I wish to visit the ancient land of India, and explore the mysteries of that country. I wish to visit Egypt, in the early days of the Pyramids and know the mysteries in that ancient tomb of the Pharaohs. I wish to go to the mystical land of Tibet, beyond the ranges of the Himalaya mountains, and wander through its mystic bypaths, accumulating sacred knowledge of the nature of the soul and the mystery called God.
    • My soul now ascends into the invisible, fourth-dimensional realm of spirit, and achieves freedom from the gravity pull of earth. Up - up - up, I rise, as my soul grows wings and achieves its liberation from the gravity pull of body and of earth.
  5. When you reach this stage of your meditation, you should have a feeling of lightness in your body, and all physical sensations should end. You now become mind and spirit, liberated from the gross, physical body.
  6. At this stage of your meditation you may still have conscious awareness. You may feel you are rising, and be able to look back and see your physical body on your bed.
  7. When you have achieved the first release of your soul in astral flight, you may direct it to any age or country you wish to visit.
  8. When you have once achieved astral projection and have had your journey into other dimensions of time, you may command your soul to interiorize in your body, by simply saying, "I want to go back to my earth body." Just as, when you are having a nightmare, you command yourself to awaken, so too you may come back at will from astral flights.

The Four Aspects of Love

There are four aspects of love and every person should experience all four, if he is to consider himself a completely integrated, happy person.

  1. Procreative love
    • To meditate on the ideal soul mate, go into the Beta meditation. As you sit in meditation, visualize yourself climbing the spiritual mountain top, which helps you elevate your consciousness above the physical and material realm.
    • Have an atmosphere that reflects peace. When you have achieved a sense of inner tranquility and your mind is cleared of all negativity and chaos, give yourself the following meditation, saying the words to yourself:
    • I now meditate on the highest ideals of love that I can enthrone in consciousness. I know that God is Love therefore love is the ultimate spiritual emotion that can bring about the unison of two souls in divine matrimony. I now ask divine guidance to the finding of my true soul mate. I desire marriage with the one person who possesses all the ideal qualities that I desire in my soul mate.
    • In this ideal unison, I shall express the qualities of cosmic love which are: a desire to share all experiences; mutual respect for one another; consideration for each other at all times; forgiveness of my mate's mistakes; appreciation of the others good qualities; tolerance of my mate's imperfections; The expression of kindness, and the giving praise when it is deserved. I shall daily express the divine emotion of love, compassion, understanding and forgiveness.
  2. Creative Love
    • Go into the stillness and visualize the spiritual lake, putting yourself into the Alpha stage of meditation.
    • Say or think the following meditation:
    • I now meditate on the second facet of divine love. I express the creative urge for the good of humanity. I am now in the flow of inspirational ideas and creative energy. I channel this creative love to my daily tasks. I lovingly serve in my work, knowing that I am transmitting my ideas, service and labor into the enduring fabric of my destiny.
    • I elevate my consciousness to high levels of inspiration through love. I feel this divine emotion in all my relations with people with whom I work. I draw upon the inspiration of my higher consciousness and bring it to my daily tasks, making them joyous, constructive, and loving.
  3. Love of Family
    • To keep yourself attuned to divine love in relation to your family members, use the following meditation:
    • I am now in tune with divine love on all planes. I generate love and kindness this day that I shall express all day to members of my family. If there is anyone I have mistreated or unjustly accused, I now forgive them and ask their forgiveness for my conduct. I am now in joyous bonds of accord and harmony with all my family and express my gratitude to them for their many kindnesses, and my appreciation for their love and kindness.
  4. Love of God
    • The most vital facet of the cosmic diamond of love is the expression of that divine emotion in our love of God, the creator.
    • To instill this greatest of all emotions in your heart and soul, begin each day of your life when you awaken, with this meditation on the love of God.
    • I now thank God for another glorious day of life. I awaken to the divine emotion of Love for God and all humanity. I now dedicate my breath this entire day as a song of thanksgiving to the creator of the universe, and every time I breathe today, it shall be a song celestial, rising to the cosmic heights, in perpetual praise and glory to the Father of all creation.

The regime for using the Sacred Flame Ritual Meditation

  1. Create a sacred shrine before which you will meditate, when you wish to invoke the sacred flame ritual. Have a small urn in which you can burn a piece of paper. Have a series of different colored candles which you will use for different meditations. Put up an emblem, a cross or some sacred relic of your particular faith. If you can find an Egyptian reproduction of some small article from the Pyramids it will help focus your higher mental powers.
  2. Have the room in which you will perform the sacred flame ritual dark, with only the light of the candle and, later, when you burn the paper, the light from the flame. You may perform the sacred flame ritual alone or have close friends or relatives perform it with you. However, be certain that they come to this sacred ritual with faith, for one unbeliever can create an atmosphere of disbelief that cancels out the positive concentration of other minds.
  3. You may have soft, peaceful music playing in the background. The composition, "Meditation," from Thais, is excellent for this purpose. Also, "In A Monastery Garden."
  4. You may sit in a comfortable position before the alter you have created, with the candle on a table near the urn, in which you will burn the paper. Have a pen and pieces of blank paper handy, on which will be written your requests for burning in the sacred flame.
  5. Before starting the meditation on the sacred flame, write down your requests on pieces of paper. Make these small in size and use two or three, putting down as many requests as you desire. There is no limit to the power you will invoke; the only limit is your faith or lack of it. If you write down that you want a million dollars, with tongue in cheek, saying to yourself, "I know this is ridiculous, but let's see what will happen." You will automatically negate the power that you wish to invoke. If you write down $1,000 and really believe it is possible to achieve that sum within a certain period of time, you will have an excellent chance of obtaining it.
  6. You may use the following words on your slips of paper, or make up your own to fit your exact needs. Keep the wording brief and to the point. Your higher psychic centers know your needs and you need only project these briefly in writing, to focus them more clearly in your higher mind centers.
    • To solve problems and overcome challenges
    • Write on your slip or slips of paper one or more problems. My problem is:
    • Trouble at my work.
    • Family friction and discord.
    • Lack of money.
    • Physical sickness.
    • Worry and anxiety.
    • Romantic problems.
    • Bad habit of smoking, or drinking, or gambling.
    • Lack of memory.
    • To manifest your dreams and aspirations
    • I desire the following:
    • The sum of $1,000 within three months.
    • A new job in work that I enjoy.
    • A house of my own, or an apartment I like.
    • A trip to Europe on my vacation.
    • To marry my true soul mate.
    • An interesting social life.
    • A healing of my body.
    • A good memory and better intellect.
    • To raise inspiration for creative work
    • I wish this creative gift:
    • To write stories.
    • To paint pictures.
    • To invent objects.
    • To compose music.
    • To go into business.
    • To invoke the magnetic power of love
    • I wish to attract my true soul mate.
    • I desire marriage with (write name of person here)
    • I wish to arouse love in (write person's name)
    • I wish to re-kindle love in my mate.
    • To remove obstacles in love, (or marriage).
    • I wish to become more magnetic to love.
    • To remove obstacles, undesirable persons and unpleasant conditions from your environment
    • I wish to overcome enmity in my work.
    • I wish to change environment in my office or home.
    • I wish to remove interference of (name of person).
    • I wish to remove animosity of (name of person).
    • My parents objects to my way of life.
    • To perform miracles of healing
    • I wish to remove this physical infirmity.
    • I wish to achieve perfect healing of my body.
    • I wish to have more energy and youthful vitality.
    • I wish to regulate my heartbeat and blood pressure so they are perfect.
    • To attract more money and financial security
    • I desire more money from my work.
    • I wish to have a change of job.
    • I wish a promotion in my work.
    • I desire the sum of $1,000 within three months.
    • I wish a new car.
    • To achieve spiritual awareness and peace of mind
    • I desire higher spiritual awareness.
    • I wish to know the mystery of the soul.
    • I desire to come closer to God.
    • I wish to channel infinite intelligence.
    • I wish for peace of mind and peace of soul.

How to perform the Sacred Flame Ritual Meditation

  • When you have determined the things you wish to ask in the sacred flame ritual, and have prepared the piece or pieces of paper, with your requests briefly listed, you may then approach the shrine, light a white candle, and stand before the alter, with the pieces of paper in your hand.
  • You may then read the following invocation to the Sacred Flame, which comes from the inscriptions found on the walls of the Temples of Isis and Osiris. In ancient Egypt, a High Priestess did the ceremony in the temple of Isis, which was the lesser light, signified by the moon. Osiris was the greater light or flame, signified by the sun. the body of Osiris was symbolically cut up and burned in the sacred flame as the ritual was intoned by the High Priestess.
  • The four elements of creation are involved in this ritual of fulfillment. Air is the creative element of mind. Water, is the spiritual element of soul. Earth is the physical element of creation, in which we have our being. Fire is the purifying and creative spirit which burns away the dross of material substance, leaving the pure gold of spirit or soul
    • The sacred flame meditation for supernormal powers
    • I now approach the sacred shrine, in the Temple of Isis, to ask for assistance of the higher spiritual forces. I now consign to the sacred flame these dreams, aspirations and desires, inscribed on these pieces of paper, asking that they be manifested through creative spirit
    • Now light one of the slips of paper and drop it into the urn, and as you continue the balance of the invocation, put the other pieces of paper into the urn, letting them also catch fire
    • I now release the creative power of the sacred flame that will burn away all obstacles and obstructions that stand in the path of me achieving my objectives in life. My dreams and desires are now released as pure flame, creative spirit, and as these requests ascend to the illimitable spiritual heights, they will clothe themselves in their physical and material counterparts, manifesting on earth the images that are inscribed hereon.
    • Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. Now all physical obstructions are removed and in the clear, purifying flame of Osiris, the golden Sun, these dreams ascend heavenward, where they find their true fulfillment in reality.
    • I now have faith that these desires shall be transmitted to the objective realm of reality, from the dream world of spirit. I expectantly await my good knowing that it is rushing forth to meet me and fulfill my destiny.
    • When the flame has completely died out and only charred ashes remain, crumble them up and remove them to be disposed of. You may perform this ritual for as many different things as you wish to materialize. It should not be done again after the first time, for at least two or three more weeks, giving the mystical forces time to bring your desire into manifestation. Sometimes the power works at once, and sometimes it takes longer, depending on your faith and the nature of your requests.

Colored Candles to be used for Various Purposes

You may perform the Egyptian Sacred Flame Ritual using various colored candles for various purposes.

  • Uses the white candle for general purposes, as white is the highest spiritual color, containing all colors
  • Use rose for invoking high creative and inspirational power for writing, composing, painting, or evoking other talents.
  • Use a blue candle for friendship, love and releasing emotional power
  • Use a red candle for healing the body of sickness.
  • Use a yellow candle for materializing money or other material substance or objects.
  • Use a black candle for removing unpleasant conditions and obstructions that stand in the way of your achievement. Also, when you wish to remove some objectionable person from your environment, the black candle should be burned.
  • Use a green candle when you wish to find something you have lost or to succeed in investments such as stocks, gold mining, oil drilling, uranium, or other precious metals.

The Five Golden Keys to Mystic Meditation

  1. A desire to create something beautiful and enduring for the world
    • Go into the stillness and create the Alpha state of meditation, where your mind is still and peaceful as a lake. Then, consciously bring into focus on the screen of your mind the most beautiful things that you can remember. Recall the magnificent scenes you have looked upon since earliest childhood of mountains, rivers and peaceful valleys.
    • Visualize the beauty of the sacred lotus blossom as you sit in deep meditation, striving to capture its purity and its symbolical meaning. When you seek inspiration for creating something beautiful and enduring for the world, this meditation should be used, saying the words to yourself or thinking them:
    • I now enter the alpha state of meditation wherein my mind becomes as peaceful and still as a lake. Now, like a mirror, my mind and my soul reflect the infinite beauty of God's universe.
    • I am stirred to creative action to utilize my gifts and talents to create something beautiful and enduring for all humanity. I am a channel for the expression of beauty. My personality now becomes magnetized with this image of beauty. My voice, my words, my facial expressions now echo this imprint of soul beauty that I wish to transmit to others. I become transfigured and I am attuned to the cosmic mind which now gives me flashes of inspiration and genius. I am now a true reflector of cosmic consciousness and all beauty, all good, all truth, all love and all peace are now transmitted to my higher creative brain centers for good.
  2. The emotion of love, when it is elevated to its highest plateau of creative action
    • Go into the Beta state of meditation. This accelerated rate of brain waves will tend to open higher centers of consciousness and cause you to become highly inspired.
    • Say or think the following words when you go into the Beta meditation to elevate love to its highest plateau of creative action:
    • I now meditate on the divine emotion of love with its many facets of creative action.
    • I wish to create a happy and prosperous life for my family and friends. I elevate love to its highest plateau of creative action and desire cosmic consciousness so I may create according to the divine pattern of good, peace, joy, and beauty.
    • I now channelize the inspiring forces of divine love in my mind, my heart and my soul. I ask for the inner illumination of cosmic consciousness so I may radiate love to everyone I meet in my personality, my words, and my actions.
  3. A desire to share your good with others, through charitable impulses
    • This meditation helps release the frozen assets of your higher creative mind centers.
    • For this meditation, go into the Alpha state and think or say the following words:
    • I am now a channel for creative good. I meditate on the cosmic cornucopia of the universe from which pours an endless and inexhaustible supply of treasures for my good and for the good of others.
    • I am a cosmic center for peace and harmony. I now release peaceful thoughts to everyone I meet. I am joyous and I release my happiness and share it with everyone I meet.
    • I now pour the balm of harmony and love on the troubled waters of discord, enmity and friction, dissolving them and creating cosmic concord and harmony.
    • I give smiles, kindness and consideration and I am blessed with friendship. I forgive others for their unkind acts and I am rewarded with love. I give service and labor and I receive riches and rewards of abundance.
  4. The master motive to create prosperity, happiness and peace for all humanity
    • Go into meditation and say:
    • I now open the centers of my consciousness to the influx of the spirit of co-operation and aid to others. I am now guided by the master motive to create prosperity, happiness, and peace for others. I am in the consciousness of co-operation and my good will seek me out.
  5. A desire to know God, to love Him, and bring His divine laws into expression
    • In meditation for achieving this state of consciousness, sit quietly and let your mind be aware of the power of God in His universe. Meditate on the mystery back of life. See your soul as the chalice of the creative spirit, which is God.
    • Then, when you have achieved absolute stillness within and without, meditate as follows:
    • I now meditate on the reality of spirit and the unreality of matter. I know that I am a spiritual image of creative Father, consisting of mind, body and soul. I now claim my divine heritage and affirm my oneness with the infinite intelligence which is God. I now align my mind, body and soul with the infinite love, which God expresses. I now accept the mantle of infinite Good, which God releases. I now reflect His infinite peace and my life is peaceful and serene. I reflect His infinite beauty and my life becomes beautiful.

Method for Achieving the Soul's Spiritual Strength

  1. Each day, enter into a state of deep meditation in which you carefully examine all the facets of soul experiences you have in life. See life as a spiritual experience, not physical. Meditate on the reality of God, the soul, the mystery back of life.
    • Say the following words in deep spiritual meditation:
    • I now meditate on the meaning and mystery of life. I recognize the source of my origin as being spiritual no physical and material. I now contemplate the mystery of my physical body. Born in the bonds of spiritual love, I have embarked upon a mystical journey through time and space. My soul inhabits a body that is physical and subject to the laws of erosion. I now contemplate the mystery of my soul. I am aware of God and His infinite Presence within me. I am aware of the true spiritual purpose of my existence. I was created to evolve my consciousness and to release the hidden splendor of my soul. I now meditate on the Karmic pattern of events that I shall institute to lead me to a finding of the grandeur of the true cosmic and spiritual experiences of life. I am attuned to love and my soul is elevated to the noblest expression of this divine emotion. I am attuned to Joy, and my soul is bathed in vibrations of intense happiness. I am in tune with Good and my soul strives to be aware of all that is good and Godly. I am in an atmosphere of peace and my soul is at peace with the world. I attune myself to the higher octaves of infinite beauty and my soul registers all sights and sounds and experiences that attest to the cosmic splendor of the God-power which created me in beauty.
  2. Daily, attune your soul to the divine attributes which bring spiritual grandeur and nobility to the life experience.
    • Each day of your life, when you begin your day, go into this cosmic meditation to attune your mind and soul to the music of the spheres:
    • I now meditate on the highest and noblest concepts that my mind can conceive. I know that I am created in the image and likeliness of God and that my soul partakes of His beauty and perfection. I now elevate my consciousness to lofty and inspiring planes of action. I idealize my thoughts and actions, striving to achieve idealism in all my relations with others. I practice honesty and truth in my daily life. I forgive others for what they have done to me and I ask forgiveness for my moral infractions of spiritual and cosmic laws. I show mercy and compassion to others and refuse to cast the first stone. I strive to be charitable and kind, sharing my good with others. I am now in holy communion with the cosmic spirit that animates the universe and I am blessed by all the forces of good in my daily life experience.
  3. Accept life's challenges as part of the soul discipline needed to strengthen you for greater glory. To give you this soul strength to meet life's various problems, use this daily meditation:
    • I recognize the need of problems and struggles to give me soul growth and spiritual evolvement. I meet these challenges with courage, faith and hope. I know that I am spiritually strengthened when I face and overcome life's problems. My soul is now charged with dynamic spiritual power which brings me peace of mind and peace of soul.
  4. To grow spiritually and evolve the soul to heights of grandeur and nobility, each day dedicate your life to God and doing good. Go into meditation for five minutes after you awaken and think or say the following:
    • Today, I dedicate my thoughts and deeds to God. I dedicate my breath and my words to His greater glory. I speak words of beauty and joy, communicating an atmosphere of harmony and wonder to every one I meet. I thank God for the gift of life and the opportunity to serve Him.
  5. Each day, search out soul experiences in your life that will add to spiritual grandeur. Sift out of each day's varied activities those experiences that elevate and inspire your mind and soul. Refuses to see the shabby, tawdry, ugly and disturbing things that are all around you and focus your higher mind on only those soul experiences that add to your elevation of consciousness over the earthbound forces of life.
    • Use this meditation for that purpose:
    • I see all beauty as a reflection of God's infinite presence in His creation. I am attuned to the beauty of nature, the mountains and oceans, the trees and flowers, the silvery moon and golden sun, the myriad stars and bedeck the purple veil of night. I enthrone this grandeur in my mind and soul and I am elevated to lofty planes of consciousness.
    • I hear all truth, and know that it is a cosmic reflection of the voice of God, speaking eloquently in the whispering wind through the treetops; the caroling of birds in their nests; the cascading of waterfalls as they flow to the cosmic seas; the happy laughter of little children, attesting to purity, innocence and Godliness. I am in tune with the joy and wonder of the cosmos and my soul is elevated to supernal heights of revelation and wisdom.
  6. Each day of your life, reflect divine harmony, order and balance. The mind and spirit of man cannot evolve in an atmosphere of discord or friction. Your soul thrives on peace and serenity. Each day when you are faced with turbulence in your own home or business environment, stop for a moment and say or think the following meditation for soul harmony:
    • I was created in bonds of peace and concord. I now go back into the peaceful womb of time and am reborn in spirit. I am immune to life's discords and am surrounded by the magic circle of God's protective love. I am one with cosmic order and harmony and I attract into my orbit of experience only serenity, joy, and peace.
  7. Have as your life goal, not just making money and having material success and riches and abundance, but a higher motivation back of your life. Release the creative spirit of inspiration and ultimate betterment for all mankind. Set a goal of universal brotherhood, overcoming of war and establishing of peace, educational standards that are lofty and universal. Meditate each day on the highest ideals you can imagine, and see cosmic unity between all God's creatures. Express divine love to everyone you meet and your soul will be given a new impetus towards Godliness.
  8. Remove the Karmic debts that you may have accumulated in past lives through a strict adherence to spiritual laws that have been enunciated by the great Mystics, Seers, Teachers and Prophets and which are revealed in the world's nine religions. These spiritual laws are given in the Ten Commandments, in the Golden Rule, and the Sermon On The Mount.
  9. Each day, as the ultimate form of meditation, be in prayerful communication with the Cosmic Spirit which manifests in all creation. When you awaken in the morning, let a prayer be on your lips; a prayer of gratitude for another day of life, and the opportunity to serve God and humanity.

Then you go into meditation and think these thoughts and say these words slowly

  • I wish to rid myself of the noxious habit of smoking. I am aware of the harmful effects smoking has on my heart, lungs, and general health. I wish to live a normal, healthy long life and I realize this is impossible if I continue the harmful habit of smoking. Every time I smoke a cigarette I shall be aware that I am giving up valuable years of my life. Cigarettes are harmful to my health and peace of mind. They will taste bitter and I shall feel a sense of nausea every time I reach for a cigarette

For better sleep

Take ten or fifteen long, deep tranquilizing breaths. Make this statement to your mind while in meditation

  • I shall now fall into a deep, natural and refreshing sleep. My mind is still and peaceful as a lake in the midst of a silent forest at midnight. I am surrounded by a sea of calmness. My mind is now retreating through the corridors of time back into timelessness. I am once again a child, without worries or cares on my mind. I have faith that God will protect me and solve all my problems. I am now floating on a cloud, up - up - up, into realms of forgetfulness, peace and beauty. I now sleep, sleep, sleep.

For attracting wealth

I am aware that the world is teeming with riches and abundance. I now claim my share of the world's wealth.

For giving a great presentation

Each time before a presentation, go into the Theta state and meditate as follows:

  • I now slow down my conscious mind. I am in the Theta meditation. I shall speak slowly and convincingly. I shall remember all the good points about my product. I tap the hidden reserves of mind power and shall convey my presentation successfully

For tapping into your higher subconscious mind power

I am now aware of my subconscious mind power. I relegate all automatic functions to its control. I withdraw my conscious mind from interfering with this higher power. I ask it to guide me to my right work. I wish to become a (whatever creative gifts you desire. Do not limit yourself, for you can become proficient in many fields)

For Meditating on a high master motive

I now magnetize the centers of my consciousness with thoughts of great success. I contemplate the future with joy and expectation of my good. I wish to attract money to achieve my life goal. I wish to help my family achieve a better way of life. I visualize myself in my own business. I see myself making money and spending it to improve my family's life. I now project the creative magnetism to achieve the great destiny that I desire

For filing data through all five senses

  • I now concentrate all my faculties of mind on one thing at a time. I observe the world around me. I concentrate on sight. I see one thing at a time and I register what I see.
  • I concentrate on hearing. I hear one thing at a time and I am aware of what I hear. I now store it in my memory bank for future reference and recall.
  • I am now aware of my sense of touch, and feel one thing at a time, registering the sensation in my higher mind.
  • I am aware of taste, and concentrate all my powers of mind on what I taste, remembering and recalling that which I wish to fix in consciousness.
  • I am concentrating on the sense of smell, and will retain that which I wish to remember

For creating an atmosphere of happiness and peace within yourself

There are no competitors in God's universe. My prosperity and good brings benefits to all people. I release my mind from concern over competition and create an atmosphere of peace, harmony, and happiness in which I wish my competitor great success.

Five rules about Money

  1. Money is a medium of exchange and in itself is not valuable
  2. True permanent values are determined by your own creative effort and what you count as important to you
  3. Money represents the frozen assets of mind and creative spirit. One idea, if it is constructive, can make you a million dollars
  4. A man from the neck down is only worth ninety-eight cents worth of chemicals; from the neck up, in the realm of creative ideas, imagination and mental power, he is worth illimitable millions
  5. Money obeys certain cosmic laws and principles, and the old adage, "money goes to money," is true. As you magnetize the brain centers with the thought you are going to be rich and meditate daily on riches, you will begin to attract the money you hold in consciousness

[94] Secrets that Lie Hidden in my Subconscious Mind

Neville Goddard, Napoleon Hill

Releasing elements in my subconscious mind. Working with really deep elements of my subconscious mind to bring forth that what I truly desire. My vision is my own and I have the power within me to bring forth my vision by working with the power of my subconscious mind

Neville Goddard

  • So, when I know what I want, remain faithful to that assumption, and the assumption, though tat the moment it is denied by my senses, and denied by reason, if I persist in it, it will harden into fact
    • What gets hardened into fact, controls the automatic behaviors of the individual
    • What gets hardened into fact, removes from an individual's consciousness that what is not related without use of mental or emotional force
    • Faithful assumption is what levels up a person's thoughts beyond limited thinking
  • So, if I assume that I am, I don't have to have evidence to support it, I assume that I am. Am what? Well, I name it, and having given it a name, given it form, given it definition, remaining in it, I resurrect it. And if it takes a thousand men to aid the birth of that state, a thousand men will play their parts, and I don’t have to go out and look for them
    • We are individuals made up of the conscious and subconscious minds connect to the superconscious mind otherwise known as the universal mind
    • Spirit of harmony brings forth those that are in the spirit of harmony
    • My brain knows my imagination as reality
  • So, if I precede my visit by an imaginal act, they will see me as I see myself. If I walk in knowing that I'm no good, they will see me exactly that way. But if I walk in the assumption that things are as I desire them to be, they are going to see me that way. And this is life
    • While in the presence of another, practice putting no label on them to allow infinite intelligence to express out from me and materialize them into form, in the spirit of harmony
    • Mood materializes into people, environment, and circumstance to reveal our mod within
    • Thoughts become things and affirmations in the external world which may be assumed as fact. The origin is still thought and thus the assumed fact no matter how valid it may appear, can and will be changed by thought

Napoleon Hill

  • The sixth sense is that portion of the subconscious mind which has been referred to as the creative imagination. It has also been referred to as the "receiving set" though which ideas, plans, and thought flash into the mind. The "flashes" are sometimes called "hunches" or "inspirations." The sixth sense defies description. It cannot be described to a person who has not mastered the other principles of this philosophy, because such a person has no knowledge, and no experience with which the sixth sense may be compared. Understanding of the sixth sense comes only by meditation through mind development from within
    • All is part of one superconscious mind. Impressing the superconscious mind is done through the imagination
    • Optimal behaviors manifest automatically because I continuously support and encourage my imagination. I also realize that my five senses are there to support the sixth sense, the imagination
    • There are infinite ways of bringing forth my vision, found by listening to my own inner voice. The inner voice speaks from the superconscious mind which is the source of all that exists
  • The sixth sense probably is the medium of contact between the finite mind of man and infinite intelligence, and for this reason, it is a mixture of both the mental and the spiritual. It is believed to be the point at which the mind of man contacts the universal mind
    • All well-being is materialized through alignment with consciousness rising and experienced through my five senses, guided by my sixth
    • The most powerful "tele-vision" is my own imagination in which I create worlds where I am the hero and all support me to bring forth wellbeing into this planet with such vivid detail that it rewires the neurology in my brain to automatically generate actions to bring it forth. I do not need anyone else to "tell" me what my "vision" has to be
  • Before I can put any portion of this philosophy into successful use, my mind must be prepared to receive it. The preparation is not difficult. It begins with study, analysis, and understanding of three enemies which I shall have to clear out. These are indecision, doubt, and fear. The sixth sense will never function while these three negatives, or any of them remain in my mind. The members of this unholy trio are closely related; where one is found, the other two are close at hand
    • The discipline of taking rapid action on an idea that I'm curious about, will not only give me empirical data, but train my ability to trust myself and act in spite of doubt/fear/hesitation while cultivating wisdom and decisiveness
    • "Sixth Sense" is a conversation with "Infinite Intelligence" that shows up when I am a vibrational match in my imagination which is clear of thoughts containing fears, doubts, and hesitation
    • "Flow" brings forth results in harmony with my vision because the "feeling" experienced while in flow is the mental alchemy that is projected outward to materialize as form. It is then experienced back through my five senses as validation of the feeling of "flow" within
    • I am the conduit that streams infinite intelligence. Just like any conduit, energy flows from side to another within it's causing, fully protected from external contaminants to smoothly carry out it's meaningful journey in all it's purity, all the way to the destination

[93] The Kybalion

The Three Initiates

The Seven Hermetic Principles

The lips of wisdom are closed, except to the ears of Understanding. - The Kybalion

The Principle of Mentalism

  • The all is mind; the universe is mental
  • The Hermetics teach that the great work of influencing one's environment is accomplished by mental power
    • If the universe is mental, then mind must be the highest power affecting its phenomena. If this be understood then all the so-called "miracles" and "wonder-workings" are seen plainly for what they are
  • As a matter of fact, none but advanced mental alchemists have been able to attain the degree of power necessary to control the grosser physical conditions, such as the control of the elements of nature; the production or cessation of tempests; the production and cessation of earthquakes and other great physical phenomenon
  • He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."
    • The information within me is a combination of what I have understood through my own intuition and knowingness of the all, through the journey, plus the combination of the opinions of others of how realities work, who verify it with facts that make it seem so believable that it rules out all possibility of the potentiality of it being another way

The Principle of Correspondence

  • My outer world is nothing more than a reflection of my inner world
  • The old hermetic axiom ran in these words: "As above, so below; as below, so above."
  • Following the Principle of Correspondence, I am justified in considering that the all creates the universe mentally, in a manner akin to the process whereby man creates mental images
  • The ancient Hermetics considered this principle as one of the most important mental instruments by which man was able to pry aside the obstacles which hid from view the unknown
  • Dilts Logical Levels
    • Vision - What am I part of?
    • Identity - Who am I?
    • Values & Belief - What is important?
    • Capabilities - How/What will I learn?
    • Behavior - What will I do differently?
    • Environment - When and where am I?
    • - I have a vision, my identity gets aligned with my vision and my circumstance reveals to me about myself through the values and beliefs that I am projecting from within onto reality, which I can optimize and change my identity within. Then, certain kinds of capabilities and information gets attracted to me
  • The Hermetic teachings concerning the process of the mental creation of the universe, are that at the beginning of the creative cycle, the all, in its aspect of being, projects its will toward its aspect of "Becoming" and the process of creation begins
    • It is taught that the process consists of the lowering of vibration until a very low degree of vibratory energy is reached, at which point the grossest possible form of matter is manifested. This process is called the stage of involution, in which the all becomes "involved," or "wrapped up," in its creation
    • This process is believed by the Hermetics to have a correspondence to the mental process of an artist, writer, or inventor, who becomes so wrapped up in his mental creation as to almost forget his own existence and who, for the time being, almost "lives in his own creation," if instead of "wrapped" I use the word "rapt," perhaps I will give a better idea of what is meant
  • I must have and hold onto my vision and consume information that is related to my vision while I look at the external world correspondence and identify what is within me that is aligned and not aligned with the vision and make the changes within and hold onto that

The Principle of Vibration

  • Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates
  • I attract who I am based on the frequency I am vibrating at
  • Knowing this, Hermetics believe that even thoughts have their own rate of vibration, and can be controlled like tuning an instrument, to produce various results for the aim of self and environment mastery. As my understanding of vibration, frequency, harmony, and resonance increase, so too shall my power over myself and my world
  • This principle explains that the differences between different manifestations of matter, energy, mind, and even spirit, result largely from varying rates of vibration
    • From the all, which is pure spirit, down to the grossest form of matter, all is in vibration, the higher the vibration, the higher the position in the scale
    • The vibration of spirit is at such an infinite rate of intensity and rapidity that it is practically at rest, just as a rapidly moving wheel seems to be motionless. And at the other end of the scale, there are gross forms of matter whose vibrations are so low as to seem at rest. Between these poles, there are millions upon millions of varying degrees of vibration

The Principle of Polarity

  • Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths, are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled
    • As I go through reality, observe what causes me to feel stressed, happy, and so forth to see what's revealing to me about what I'm going to create
    • If something polarizes me and makes me angry, then all of a sudden I've gone into the anger vibration, which likely is not aligned with my vision, causes me to create based from my vibration of anger
    • This is why it is so important to watch what kind of information I am consuming. If I am consuming angry information, then I am going to attract that of anger
  • This principle is important to Hermetics, because it suggests I can change the polarity of a degree of emotion, by recognizing it is the same and choosing the degree which best suits my needs
  • When I am in tune with the principle of rhythm and understand that every mental state exists in rhythm, always ebbing and flowing, I can learn to use this principle to my advantage by polarizing myself to the degree I desire
  • "Good and Evil" are but the poles of the same thing, and the Hermetics understand the art of transmuting evil into good, by means of an application of the principle of polarity. In short, the "art of polarization" becomes a phase of "mental alchemy" known and practiced by the ancient and modern Hermetic masters. An understanding of the principle will enable one to change his own polarity, as well as that of others, if he will devote the time and study necessary to master the art

The Principle of Rhythm

  • Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates
  • Napoleon Hill's Six Basic Fears
    • Fear of Poverty
    • Fear of Criticism
    • Fear of Ill Health
    • Fear of Old Age
    • Fear of Loss of Love
    • Fear of Death
  • What takes me out of my rhythm is rooted in fear. These are fears that I must eliminate. If I do not eliminate them, then I will snag onto them and it will break my flow. Eliminate doubts, fears, and indecision for this to work to a high degree
  • Rhythm will have an effect on me one way or another, but with awareness I can use it to propel forward and ride it back to recovery
  • All people who experience self-mastery do this to some degree, but those who exert their will upon this principle are able to act form a place of purpose as opposed to letting the pendulum swing them into reactivity
  • All individuals who have attained any degree of self-mastery do this to a certain degree, more or less unconsciously, but the master does this consciously, and by the use of his will, and attains a degree of poise and mental firmness almost impossible of belief on the part of the masses who are swung backward and forward like a pendulum
    • This principle and that of polarity have been closely studied by the Hermetics, and the methods of counteracting, neutralizing, and using them form an important part of the Hermetic mental alchemy

The Principle of Cause and Effect

  • Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to law. Chance is but a name for law not recognized. There are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law
  • This principle embodies the fact that there is a cause for every effect; an effect from every cause. It explains that: "Everything happens according to law"; that nothing every "merely happens"; that there is no such thing as chance; that while there are various planes of cause and effect, the higher dominating the lower planes, still nothing every entirely escapes the law
    • The Hermetics understand the art and methods of rising above the ordinary plane of cause and effect, to a certain degree, and by mentally rising to a higher plane they become causers instead of effects
  • The masses of people are carried along, obedient to environment; the wills and desires of others stronger than myself; heredity; suggestion; and other outward causes moving them about like pawns on the chessboard of life
    • But the masters, rising to the plane above, dominate their moods, characters, qualities, and powers, as well as the environment surrounding them, and become movers instead of pawns
    • They help to play the game of life, instead of being played and moved about by other wills and environment. They use the principle instead of being its tools. The masters obey the causation of their higher planes, but they help to rule on their own plane. In this statement there is condensed a wealth of Hermetic knowledge, let him read who can

The Principle of Gender

  • Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes
  • On the physical plane, the principle manifests as sex, on the higher planes it takes higher forms, but the principle is ever the same. No creation, physical, mental or spiritual, is impossible without this principle. An understanding of its laws will throw light on may a subject that has perplexed the minds of men. The principle of gender works ever in the direction of generation, regeneration, and creation. Everything, and every person, contains the two elements or principles ,or this great principle, within it, him or her. Every male thing has the female element also; every female contains also the male principle
  • Too much masculine energy, without a balance of feminine, leads to a growth of power to the extreme of reckless abandon, where I lose perspective of what is most important and forget the principles which began the conquest in the first place
    • Too much feminine energy, without a balance of the masculine, leads to a life grounded so deeply in the present, that my life becomes determined by the cycles and external circumstance out of favor
  • E n these extremes of the present feminine and future-driven masculine and seek balance in all things, is the key to using all seven hermetic principles to full effect and achieving lasting self-mastery, without straying to far from the path
  • Everything and everyone contains both masculine and feminine elements. Among the outward expressions of feminine qualities are love, patience, intuition, and gentleness and of masculine qualities are energy, self reliance, logic, and intellect

[92] Letting Go of Inner-Resistance

Joseph Rodrigues

The goal is to maintain an ideal state of mind; an identity or self-image that is in alignment with my vision. Along the journey of embodying that which I truly am, I may encounter inner-resistance. Inner-resistance affects my ability to maintain a flow-based journey to the destination. Whatever I need to do will reveal itself through inspiration. This inspiration is what I take and put into my projects to see them all the way to completion. During this, I may experience inner-resistance, not related to the project itself, but it's the doubt, frustration, and impatience related to my vision or the outcome that seem to convolute the day-to-day tasks. This is why it is important to let go of inner-resistance

Attributes

  • Identifying with any of these three leads to more of them. However, if I do not identify with any of them, then I am able to further embody the ideal self-image
    • Doubt
    • Usually involved with an aspect from my past
    • Frustration
    • Deals with the now
    • Impatience
    • Looking at the vision and saying "We aren't there yet" and "I wish I had it now!"
    • Doubt and impatience tends to lead to frustration

Resistance

  • Letting Go // David Hawkins
    • Letting go is like the sudden cessation of an inner pressure or the dropping of a weight
    • It is accompanied by a sudden feeling of relief and lightness, with an increase happiness and freedom
    • It is an actual mechanism of the mind, and everyone has experienced it on occasion

Detaching from Resistance

  • Flow and Now
    • Eckhart Tolle // The Power of Now
    • "One day I'll make it." Is my goal taking up so much of my attention that I reduce the present moment to a means to an end?
    • Is it taking the joy out of my doing? Am I waiting to start living?
    • If I develop such a mind pattern, no matter what I achieve or get, the present will never be good enough; the future will always seem better
    • Eckhart Tolle // The Power of Now
    • Whenever I am waiting, whenever it may be, use that time to feel the inner body
    • In this way, traffic jams and line-ups become very enjoyable
    • Instead of mentally projecting myself away from the now, go more deeply into the now by going more deeply into the body
    • The art of inner-body awareness will develop into a completely new way of living, a state of permanent connectedness with being, and will add a depth to my life that I have never known before
  • Elements of Flow
    • Clear goals at an abstract and granular level
    • Doubt
    • Without a vision, I may find it hard to calibrate myself towards something that is ideal
    • In order to find clarity in my focus, I start with a small goal
    • However, remember that the only difference between a small and big goal is our interpretation of it
    • Frustration
    • Over-thinking throws me out of flow and leads to frustration
    • Impatience
    • Instead of work for a time crunch, I must get into a deeply submerged flow and realize that the goal will be achieved when the time is right
    • Immediate reporting and feedback
    • Doubt
    • All feedback and criticism is optimization data
    • Frustration
    • Maintaining that all is in contribution to my ideal vision and what may seem as challenge, failure, and loss are actually there to guide me towards the optimal path
    • Impatience
    • Patience comes from a different perspective of how events are unfolding
    • Harmony between challenge and skill
    • Doubt
    • Developing a mind skill to change how I relate to experiences so I can facilitate success
    • Frustration
    • Maintaining an ideal state of mind allows for intelligent uses of my time
    • Impatience
    • By committing to a vision, I remove disempowering information which purifies me, allowing me to see growth in even the smallest of actions and events
    • Action and awareness become one
    • Distractions are excluded from consciousness. Fear, doubt, and indecision tapers away
    • Time is distorted
    • The activity and person becomes autotelic

[91] What I want, wants me back

Neville Goddard

Concept of Self

Practice

  • The conscious mind forms beliefs and opinions from the evidence of the senses or the perceived outer world
    • The creative power within each of us accepts as true that which the conscious mind impresses upon it
    • My creative power takes those ideas, which are thought of with feeling, and projects them in my outer world. It is important to remember that not all thoughts are creative
    • Only those are believed to be true or which are joined with feeling create the circumstances and events that I will encounter
  • First, I must be like the watchman at the gate. I must watch every thought that contains I Am. If I am observant, I will see that I have created every circumstance and experience of my life

Sea of Ideas

  • Each of us is subjected to a sea of ideas. We listen to the radio, watch the news on television, or hear some gossip
    • If what I observe calls forth an emotion, I have reacted and, thereby, planted a seed which will sprout at some future time
    • Thoughts do not recede into the past. Rather, they advance into the future to confront me so that I may see that which I have planted, either wisely or unwisely
  • It is a worthwhile exercise to awake in the morning and imagine myself at the end of my day, having accomplished all that I wanted and feeling happy and contended
    • If there is a situation that I will encounter later int eh day that is of concern to me, spend a few moments imagining the outcome I wish to experience
    • These imaginal activities will not advance into my future to reveal the harvest I so wisely planted

Daily Revisions

  • That which is confronting me in my world now is the result of my past thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and imaginal activity
    • These appearances will continue in being as long as I give them life through my conscious awareness of them. I must disregard the evidence of my senses as it pertains to any undesirable condition in my life
    • I must imagine and feel that I have already attained that which I want to experience rather than that which I do not want to continue in being
    • This may appear difficult, yet I have probably exercised this principle unconsciously to produce negative results
  • Seven objections/Rejections to Revise (Concept of Self Based)
    • It is too expensive
    • I need to use this money somewhere else
    • I am already working with someone else
    • I can get a cheaper version somewhere else
    • There's too much going on right now
    • I have never heard of your company
    • It's just not important right now

[90] Live in the End

Neville Goddard

The creative word (Imagination)

  • In the beginning was the word and the word was with the source and the word was source
    • The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us
  • The same creative word that created the universe, and sustains it, dwells in us. Therefore, "with God all things are possible," and therefore with man all things are possible. So, he states it in one book, "With God all things are possible" but in Mark he states it, "All things are possible to him," meaning man, "who believes." Can man believe?
    • Words represent symbols which represent the theory of mind
    • There are different forms of expression, speech and mind, both linked to the mind
  • So, this creative word is in me. Well, what is this creative word? It's my own wonderful human imagination. That's the source in man. Man is all imagination, and the source is man, and exists in us, and we in it. The eternal body of man is the imagination, and that is the source itself the divine body; and we are it's members
  • So, when I say, "I am," that's it. Now, can I believe that I am now the man that I would like to be, though at the moment of my assumption, reason denies it? And my senses deny it? Can I really conceive a scene, a scene, which if true, would imply the fulfillment of my dream? Just imagine it. Certainly I can imagine it, but the problem is: Will I believe it? Will I believe in the reality of the thing imagined?
    • When I create a definite chief aim, I reflect about how everything in the external world is supportive and related to my definite chief aim. It is through this that I create and work with the power of the source, which is: All things are possible. That harmonious within, which is the definite chief aim, will be reflected outwards and as I believe so it shall be done unto me. So, I have to make sure that as I believe means all people, environment, circumstances, and information in the external world represent and is related to bringing forth my definite chief aim even if everybody else denies it

States of mind (Levels of consciousness)

  • If I could, this very moment, imagine myself into a state, any state at all, and dwell in it, well now, what is "dwelling in it?" Well, I'm dwelling in it. Well, that's the source. And that is the resurrecting power of the universe. So, if I remain in a state, I will resurrect it and objectify it in my world. But I have to select it and enter the state
  • If imagining creates reality, what am I imagining? For, if the source is the only creative power in the universe, and I identify the source with my own imagination, well, then, my imagination is creating reality. So what am I imagining?
  • Open the news, and I am fed with everything I should not feast upon, all the horrors of the world, all the negative states of the world; after having listened for an hour, then I must either regurgitate or in some strange way rub it out, because I can't go through life feeding upon such nonsense

All things are possible (Power of Source)

  • I dare say that everyone here would say, "Yes," to the statement "With the source, all things are possible."
    • I don't think I'd be here if I did not believe in the source, and the source to whom all things are possible. But maybe I stop right there, and I separate man from the source, and my purpose is to show that we are not two, but we are one, that the source actually became man, that man may become the source
  • Well, this is how I test myself: If the source is in me, and all things are possible to the infinite intelligence, then I must find out who the source is. Well, I have found him as my own wonderful human imagination, and because the source dwells, not only in me, but dwell sin us, everything is possible to everyone in the world
    • And, so, I help man best by telling him who the source is. I could give him all the things in the world that he needs, he'll come back for more tomorrow unless he knows who the source is
  • Is there anything in this world that wasn't first imagined? Name one thing or point at one thing in the world for me that is now considered to be real that wasn't first only imagined?
    • What is now proved was once only imagined. Therefore, this is a true statement, "All things were made by the source." and the source is my own wonderful human imagination. All objective reality is solely produced through imagining. The clothes I wear, the chairs on which I am seated, this in which I am now placed, everything was once only imagined

Myself pushed out (All is one mind individualized)

  • The source dwells in all, and is the true identity of every man, then everyone must be myself "pushed out." There can't be another if the source is one, therefore, I tell myself, as the seeming other, what I would do if I were you, and instead of giving him the thing that I need physically, tell him how to get it for himself
  • I should actually know exactly what I would like to be, and, discovering what I would like to be against what I seem to be, dare to assume that I am it! And my assumption, though false, if persisted in, would harden into fact
  • So, I am told, "I kill, and I make alive; I would, and I heal" I create the blessing; I create the curses, but, now, I must choose life. Choose the lovely things but don't say there's another creator, for if there is another creator then I am in conflict ○ So, my own imagination can conjure unlovely things if I dwell upon them, or the lovely things, but there can't be two sources. And if I can find that source and identify it with my own wonderful human imagination, then I can't pass the buck. I can't turn to anything and blame it for the things happening in my life

How to live in the end

  • What would I feel like if now I were the man that I want to be? How would I see the world if things were as I desire them to be? Now, this is what I mean by "living in the end"
  • Well, then, now, this very instant, I desire happiness in marriage, for example. I say, "Well, there's not one person in my world that is eligible. I know no one." I don’t' have to know anyone
    • All I have to do is to decide within myself what I want. Now, what would I do if it were true? Would I wear a ring on the one finger that would imply that some one placed it there? One that I admire? Well, then, wear it there. Don't wear a physical ring. But it on just as though she had placed it there, and sleep feeling that which I am feeling is real
    • Don't say, "It's all imagination." Certainly it is, because all imagination is the source, therefore, it's all reality. So, when I say, "That's only my imagination," well, I am just saying, "That's only a thing called the source when I treat imagination that way
  • Now tonight, find out exactly what I, not what they think I ought to want, what I want. Ask no one's permission. I don't need anyone's permission; I only need my own decision
    • What do I want? Now, what would it be like if it were true? Now, catch the mood, and try to give that mood all the sensory vividness of reality, all the tones of reality, and then sleep in it just as though it were true. And then await the inevitable
  • The inevitable is that I am going to resurrect it and objectify it on the screen of space, and then the world will call it real, and they may not believe me
    • It doesn't really matter. If I tell them it came to pass because I simply imagined it, no, they will point to the series of events that led up to it, and they will give credit to the bridge of incidents, across which I walked toward the fulfillments of that state, and they will point out some physical thing that was the cause
    • Now, the cause is invisible, for the cause is the source, and the source is invisible to the moral eye
  • Who knows what I am imagining? No one knows, but I can sit down and imagine, and no one can stop me from doing it, but can I give reality to the imagined state?
    • If I do, yes, a bridge of incidents will appear in my world, and I'll walk across some series of events leading up to the fulfillment of the imaginal state. But don't give causation to any physical step that I took towards the fulfillment of it
  • So, when I know what I want, remain faithful to that assumption, and the assumption, though at the moment it is denied by my senses, and denied by reason, if I persist in it, it will harden into fact
    • Am I not told that the source calls a thing that Is not seen as though it were seen, and then the unseen becomes seen? The source calls everything form the unseen into the seen in this simple manner, for the source is the resurrecting power

[89] Eight Pillars of Prosperity

James Allen

I become what I think about. How I determine reality to work is going to determine the thoughts and emotions that I have, the action or lack of action that I take, and inevitably the results that I get. While there are things outside of my control, I have a far greater influence of that which is within my control and all I have to do is increase my awareness and recognize that there's a lot of things that I'm just not looking at. First, I must have faith in the possibility that I can make it happen

Introduction

  • Prosperity rests upon a moral foundation. It is popularly supposed to rest upon an immoral foundation, that is, upon trickery, sharp practice, deception, and greed. One commonly hears even an otherwise intelligent man declare that "No man can be successful in business unless he is dishonest," thus regarding business prosperity, a good thing, as the effect of dishonesty, a bad thing

First pillar - Energy

  • Energy is a moral virtue, its opposing vice being laziness. As a virtue, it can be cultivated, and the lazy man can become energetic by forcibly arousing himself to exertion
    • Focus and will is cultivated by taking action and applying what I am learning
  • But energy is a composite power. It does not stand alone. Involved in it are qualities which go to the making of vigorous character and the production of prosperity. Mainly, these qualities are contained in the four following characteristics:
    • Promptitude
    • Promptitude is valuable possession. It begets reliability. People who are alert, prompt, and punctual are relied upon. They can be trusted to do their duty, and to do it vigorously and well
    • Vigilance
    • Vigilance is the guard of all the faculties and powers of the mind. It is the detective that prevents the entrance of any violent and destructive element. It is the close companion and protector of all success, liberty, and wisdom. Without this watchful attitude of mind, a man is a fool, and there is no prosperity for a fool
    • Industry
    • Industry brings cheerfulness and plenty. Vigorously industrious people are the happiest members of the community. They are not always the richest, if by riches is meant a superfluity of money; but they are always the most lighthearted and joyful, and the most satisfied with what they do and have, and are therefore the richer, if by richer we mean more abundantly blessed
    • People who make themselves useful to the community, receive back form the community their full share of health, happiness, and prosperity. They brighten the daily task, and keep the world moving. They are the gold of the nation and the salt of the earth
    • Earnestness
    • "Earnestness," said a Great Teacher, "is the path of immortality. They who are in earnest do not die; they who are not in earnest are as if dead already." Earnestness is the dedication of the entire mind to its task. I live only in what I do. Earnest people are dissatisfied with anything short of the highest excellence in whatever they do, and they always reach that excellence
    • What ever I am, whether shopkeeper or saintly teacher, I can safely give the very best to the world without any doubt or misgiving. If the indelible impress of my earnestness be on my goods in the one case, or on my words in the other, my business will flourish, or my percepts will live

Second pillar - Economy

  • Nature destroys every foulness, not by annihilation, but by transmutation, by sweetening and purifying it, and making it serve the ends of things beautiful, useful and good
  • The Pillar of Economy, when soundly built, will be found to be composed largely of these four qualities:
    • Moderation
    • Moderation is the strong core of economy. It avoids extremes, finding the middle way in all things. It also consists in abstaining from the unnecessary and the harmful. There can be no such things as moderation in that which is evil, for that would be excess
    • Efficiency
    • Efficiency proceeds from the right conservation of one's forces and powers. All skill is the use of concentrated energy. Superior skill, as talent and genius, is a higher degree of concentrated force. Men are always skillful in that which they love, because the mind is almost ceaselessly centered upon it. Skill is the result of that mental economy which transmutes thought into invention and action
    • Resourcefulness
    • Resourcefulness is the outcome of efficiency. It is an important element in prosperity, for the resourceful man is never confounded. He may have many falls, but he will always be equal to the occasion, and will be on his feet again immediately. Resourcefulness has its fundamental cause in the conservation of energy. It is energy transmuted. When a man cuts off certain mental or bodily vices which have been depleting him of his energy, what becomes of the energy so conserved? It is not destroyed or lost, for energy can never be destroyed or lost. It becomes productive energy. It reappears in the form of fruitful thought. The virtuous man is always more successful than the vicious man because he is teeming with resources
    • Originality
    • Originality is resourcefulness ripened and perfected. Where there is originality there is genius, and men of genius are the lights of the world. Whatever work a man does, he should fall back upon his own resources in the doing it. While learning from others, I should not slavishly imitate them, but should put myself into my work, and so make it new and original

Third pillar - Integrity

  • The man that courts prosperity must, in all his transactions, whether material or mental, study how to give a just return for which he receives
  • The Pillar of Integrity is held together by these four virile elements
    • Honesty
    • Honesty is the surest way to success. The day at last comes when the dishonest man repents in sorrow and suffering: but no man ever needs to repent of having been honest. Even when the honest man fails, as he does sometimes, though lacking other of these pillars, such as energy, economy, or system his failure is not the grievous thing it is to the dishonest man, for he can always rejoice in the fac that he has never defrauded a fellow being. Even in his darkest hour he finds repose in a clear conscience
    • Fearlessness
    • Fearlessness accompanies honesty. The honest man has a clear eye and an unflinching gaze. He looks his fellowmen in the face, and his speech is direct and convincing. The liar and cheat hangs his head; his eye is muddy and his gaze oblique. He cannot look another man in the eye, and his speech arouses mistrust, for it is ambiguous and unconvincing
    • Purposefulness
    • Purposefulness is the direct outcome of that strength of character which integrity fosters. The man of integrity is the man of direct aims and strong and intelligent purposes
    • Invincibility
    • Invincibility is a glorious protector, but it only envelopes the man whose integrity is perfectly pure and unassailable. Never to violate, even in the most insignificant particular, the principle of integrity, is to be invincible against all the assaults of innuendo, slander, and misrepresentation

Fourth pillar - System

  • System is that principle of order by which confusion is rendered impossible in the natural and universal order everything is in its place, so that the vast universal runs more perfectly than the most perfect machine. Disorder in space would mean the destruction of the universe; and disorder in a man's affairs destroys his work and prosperity
  • In system is contained these four ingredients:
    • Readiness
    • Readiness is aliveness. It is that spirit of alertness by which a situation is immediately grasped and dealt with. The observance of system fosters and develops this spirit. The successful General must have the power of readily meeting an y new and unlooked for move on the part of the enemy; so every business man must have the readiness to deal with any unexpected development affecting his line of trade; sand so also must the man of thought be able to deal with the details of any new problems which may arise
    • Accuracy
    • Accuracy is of supreme importance in all commercial concerns and enterprises, but there can be no accuracy apart from system, and a system which is more or less imperfect will involve its originator in mistakes more or less disastrous until he improves it
    • Utility
    • Utility or usefulness, is the direct result of method in one's work. Labor arrives at fruitful and profitable ends when it is systematically pursued,. If the gardener is to gather in the best produce, he must not only sow and plant, but he must sow and plant at the right time; and if any work is to be fruitful in results, it must be done seasonably, and the time for doing a thing must not be allowed to pass by
    • Comprehensiveness
    • Comprehensiveness is that quality of mind which enables a man to deal with a large number of related entails, to grasp them in their entirety, along with the simple principle which governs them and binds them together. It is a masterly quality, giving organizing and governing power, and is developed by systematic attention to detail

Fifth pillar - Sympathy

  • Sympathy is a deep, silent, inexpressible tenderness which I shown in a consistently self forgetful gentle character. Sympathetic people are not gushing an spasmodic, but are permanently self restrained, firm, quiet, unassuming and gracious. Lack of sympathy arises in egotism; sympathy arises in love. Egotism is involve in ignorance; love I allied to knowledge
  • Fourfold are the qualities which make up the great virtue of sympathy, namely:
    • Kindness
    • Kindness, when fully developed, is not a passing impulse but a permanent quality
    • A true kindness is unchangeable, and needs no external stimulus to force it into action
    • Generosity
    • Generosity goes with a larger hearted kindness. If kindness be the gentle sister, generosity is the strong bother. A free, open handed, and magnanimous character is always attractive and influential
    • Gentleness
    • Gentleness is akin to divinity. Perhaps no quality is so far removed from all that is coarse, brutal and selfish as gentleness, so that when one is becoming gentle, he is becoming divine. It can only be acquired after much experience and though great self-discipline
    • Insight
    • Insight is the gift of sympathy. The sympathetic mind is the profoundly perceiving mind. I understand by experience, and not by argument
  • Prejudice is the great barrier to sympathy and knowledge. It is impossible to understand those against whom one harbors a prejudice. I only see men and things as they are when I divest my minds of partial judgements. I become seers as I become sympathizers. Sympathy has knowledge for her companion

Sixth pillar - Sincerity

  • Human society is held together by its sincerity. A universal falseness would beget a universal mistrust which would bring about a universal separation, if not destruction. Life is made sane, wholesome, and happy by our deep rooted belief in one another. If I did not trust men, I could not transact business with them, could not even associate with them
  • Four beautiful traits adorn the mind of the sincere man; they are:
    • Simplicity
    • Simplicity is naturalness. It is simple being, without fake or foreign adornment
    • Attractiveness
    • Attractiveness is the direct outcome of simplicity. This is seen in the attractiveness of all natural objects; to which I have referred, but in human nature it is manifested as personal influence
    • Penetration
    • Penetration belongs to the sincere. All shams are unveiled in their presence. All simulators are transparent to the searching eye of the sincere man. With one clear glance he sees though all their flimsy pretenses. Tricksters. With under his strong gaze, and want to get away from it. He who has rid his heart of all falseness, and entertains only that which is true, has gained the power to distinguish the false from the true in others. He is not deceived who is not self deceived
    • Power
    • Power goes with penetration. An understanding of the nature of actions is accompanied with the power to meet and deal with all actions in the right and best way

Seventh pillar - Impartiality

  • To get rid of prejudice is a great achievement. Prejudice piles obstacles in a man's way, obstacles of health, success, happiness, and prosperity, so that he is continually running up against imaginary enemies, who, when prejudice is removed, are seen to be friend
  • The four great elements of impartiality are:
    • Justice
    • The just man does not try to gain an advantage; he considers the true value of things, and molds his transactions in accordance therewith
    • The upright man purges his business of all bargaining, and builds it one and more dignified basis of justice. He supplied "a good article" at its right price, and does not alter. He does not soil his hands with any business which is tainted with fraud. His goods are genuine and they are properly priced
    • Patience
    • Patience e is the brightest jewel in the character of the impartial man
    • A man must begin to wisely control himself, and to learn the beautiful lessons of patience, if he is to be highly prosperous, if he is to be a man of use and power. He must learn to think of others, to act for their good, and not be alone for himself; to be considerate, for bearing, and long suffering
    • Calmness
    • Calmness accompanies patience. It is a great and glorious quality. It is the peaceful haven of emancipated souls after their long wanderings on the tempest riven ocean of passion. It makes the man who has suffered much, endured much, experienced much, and has finally conquered
    • Wisdom
    • Wisdom abides with the impartial man. Her counsels guide him; her wings shield him; she lead shim along pleasant ways to happy destinations
    • The understand mind needs no external support. It stands of itself on the firm ground of knowledge; not book-knowledge, but ripened experience. It has passed through all minds, and therefore knows them. It has traveled with all hearts, and knows their journeying in joy and sorrow

Eighth pillar - Self-reliance

  • If we rely upon the light of another, darkness will overtake us, but if we rely upon our own light we have but to keep it burning
  • The four grand qualities of self reliance are:
    • Decision
    • Decision makes a man strong. The wearer is the weakling. A man how is to play a speaking part, however small, in the drama of life must be decisive and know what he is about
    • Steadfastness
    • Steadfastness arises in the mind that is quick to decide. It is indeed a final decision upon the best course of conduct and the best path in life
    • The man without fixed principles will not accomplish much
    • Dignity
    • The man of dignity cannot be down-trodden and enslaved, because he has ceased to tread upon and enslave himself. He at once disarms, and a look, a word, a wise and suggestive silence, any attempt to demean him
    • Independence
    • Independence is the birthright of the strong and well controlled man. All men love and strive for liberty. All men aspire to some sort of freedom

[88] Self-Image

Neville Goddard, Maxwell Maltz, David Hawkins

When I align with my higher self-image, I experience reality in a more harmonious way. I have more joyous, collaborative relationships with other people, environments, and circumstances. I bring forth my vision, create my dream

Neville Goddard

  • The whole vast world is myself pushed out. All that I behold though appears without, it is within, in my own wonderful human imagination of which this world of mortality is but a shadow
  • As I'm told, "unless I am born again I cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven" even though the kingdom of Heaven is within me
    • The kingdom of God is within me and God is in his kingdom
    • Although he is in his kingdom and that kingdom is in me, I cannot enter it
    • Unless, I turn from this world of materiality believing it is the cause, believing it is the reality to live in my own wonderful human imagination
  • When I do I will find myself on the very verge of being reborn
    • So I warned, do not ask me when. I will tell you, not even the son knows. Only the Father
    • But I'll give you the symptoms of it, when I can trust my own wonderful human imagination, that will be the symptom
  • That I could turn myself from this world of seeing reality on the outside to a world of imagination. So I actually live in my own wonderful human imagination
    • If I do and I'm really put into a being who believes in the reality of his own imaginal acts, I am then on the verge of rebirth
  • I can tell from the uprising of moods within me that I'm going to meet certain people and I do
  • The mood, I can suppress the mood. As Churchill said, "the moods determined the fortunes of people rather than the fortune's determine the mood"
    • Don't ignore that great man. He said that the mood actually determines the fortunes. So I catch a mood or then catch the mood of my wish fulfilled
    • What would the feeling be like if it were true? Imagine the wish fulfilled. What would it be like? How would I feel if it were true?
    • In spite of all things round about to deny it. I walk as though it were true and in a way that I do not
  • So everyone in my world is myself pushed out
    • Blame no one. Don't even blame myself. Just change my diet
    • They only reflect what I have been doing and maybe still doing
    • When I see it I change my diet. And the diet is simply words, all within me
    • So I assume that I am now the man or woman that I want to be. Walk in that assumption as though it were true. Living it just as though it is true
  • There is only one creative power in the world. The one who kills is the one who makes alive. The one who wounds is the one who heals and there is no other power than this one power and that one power is my own wonderful human imagination. That is God. There is no other God. He is buried in me and the day will come when he will awaken within me

Maxwell Maltz

  • Conduct an accurate inventory and analysis of the contents of my self-image
    • I act, and feel, not according to what things are really like, but according to the image my mind holds of what they are like. I have certain mental images of myself, my world, and the people around me, and I behave as though these images were the truth, the reality, rather than the things they represent
    • The aim of self-image psychology is not to create a fictitious self which is all-powerful, arrogant, egoistic, all-important. Such an image is as inappropriate and unrealistic as the inferior image of self. My aim is to find the "real self," and to bring my mental images of myself more in line with "the objects they represent."
  • Exercise
    • Set aside a period of 30 minutes each day where I can be alone and undisturbed. Relax and make myself as comfortable as possible. Now, close my eyes and exercise my imagination
    • See myself acting and reacting appropriately, successfully, ideally. It doesn't matter how I acted yesterday. I do not need to try to have faith I will act in the ideal way tomorrow. My nervous system will take care of that in time, if I continue to practice
    • Make these pictures as vivid and as detailed as possible
    • The way to do this is pay attention to small details, sights, sounds, objects, in my imagined environment
    • This exercise builds new "memories" or stored data into my mid-brain and central nervous system. It builds a new image of self. After practicing it for a time, I will be surprised to find myself "acting differently," more or less automatically and spontaneously without trying

David Hawkins

  • Difference between Power vs Force
    • Power appeals to what uplifts, dignifies, and enables. Force must always be justified, whereas power requires no justification. Force is associated with the partial, power with the whole
    • Force always moves against something, whereas power doesn't move against anything at all
    • Force is incomplete and therefore has to be fed energy constantly. Power is total and complete in itself and requires nothing form outside. It makes no demands; it has no needs
    • Because force has an insatiable appetite, it constantly consumes. Power, in contrast, energizes, gives forth, supplies, and supports
    • I notice that power is associated with compassion and makes me feel positively about myself. Force is associated with judgement and makes me feel poorly about myself
    • Force always creates counterforce; its effect is to polarize

Key Realizations

  • As I believe, so it shall be done unto you
  • Reaction to the outer world reveals identity
  • Self-image can be evolved physically, emotionally, and mentally
  • The spiritual self-image transcends physical, emotional, and mental identity
  • I Am is the understanding of beyond self-image and what I identify with
  • Self-image is evolved through evolving beliefs
  • True self-image is revealed through the journey and hints of spirit of harmony and service
  • When in doubt, "Identify up"

[87] Focus with Awareness

The Alchemist // Paulo Cuelo

Rearranging the mind and having the mind reflect to rearrange reality. In other words, bringing forth a vision

Mental Alchemy

  • The medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter. It was concerned particularly with attempts to convert base metals into gold or to find a universal elixir
  • James Allen
    • A speculative philosophy will prove a shadowy thing in the time of calamity; a man must have the inward Wisdom which puts an end to grief
  • Focus
    • The center of interest or activity
    • The state or quality of having or producing clear visual definition
  • Awareness
    • Knowledge or perception of a situation or fact
    • Awareness is the state of being conscious of something. More specifically, it is the ability to directly know and perceive, to feel, or to be cognizant of events
    • Concern about and well-informed interest in a particular situation or development

Four Stages of Competence (Raising Awareness)

  • Unconscious incompetence
    • The individual does not understand or know how to do something and does not necessarily recognize the deficit. They may deny the usefulness of the skill. The individual must recognize their own incompetence, and the value of the new skill, before moving on to the next stage. The length of time an individual spends in this stage depends on the strength of the stimulus to learn
  • Conscious incompetence
    • Though the individual does not understand or know how to do something, they recognize the deficit, as well as the value of a new skill in addressing the deficit. The making of mistakes can be integral to the learning process this stage
  • Conscious competence
    • The individual understands or knows how to do something. However, demonstrating the skill or knowledge requires concentration. It may be broken down into steps, and there is heavy conscious involvement in executing the new skill
  • Unconscious competence
    • The individual has had so much practice with a skill that it has become "second nature" and can be performed easily. As a result, the skill can be performed while executing another task. The individual may be able to teach it to others, depending upon how and when it was learned

Focus

  • A disciplined life (The One Thing // Gary Keller)
    • Success is about doing the right thing, not about doing everything right
    • The trick to success is to choose the right habit and bring just enough discipline to establish it
    • When I do the right thing, it can liberate me from having to monitor everything
    • Build on one habit at a time
    • Why, what, how, and what if learners
  • Imagination
    • How to Make Our Mental Pictures Come True // George Schubel
    • I must be familiar, by means of outward observation and experience, with the things which relate themselves to my inner picture
    • If my thought of two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars is a vague one, then before I try to see it clearly in my mind, I must go to the bank and ask the teller to show me two-hundred and fifty thousand dollar bills which I study carefully, and in this way, I get "more light" upon the money; I am able to see it mentally more clearly
    • So with the business enterprise. If it is an automobile business I have in mind, I must visit automobile factories and observe the method of building an automobile
    • So with the home. I visit the homes of my friends, I become acquainted with the various kinds of architecture, the kinds of brick and timber, the arrangement of rooms and every detail which will help to "throw light" upon the thought of the home which I am contemplating now

[86] How to Find my Real Self

Mildred Mann

Taking the conscious and subconscious mind and adding the super conscious mind to the mix. I am more than I say I am. I am an identity that I have based off of some perception. I feel, think, and act a certain way and I have five senses that allow me to receive data. Now, the meaning that I give to this data and the meaning that others have told me to give to this data cause me to form conclusions. However, I have the sixth sense, the ability to go into the creative imagination, the universal mind, the super conscious, communication with infinite intelligence, which through my creative expressions, allows me to have access to this infinite intelligence. I may find myself in flow, creatively solving problems in ways that I have never learned before, which is when I tap into the super consciousness. When I tap into the super consciousness, I begin to ask if there are more to me than the perceptions of how I see myself. When I dig deeper, I recognize that I am the conscious mind, consciously I can direct information into my subconscious mind and believe myself to be a certain way. There is a subconscious mind which has access to all this information that I have received throughout my lifetime, through sensory input, and there is the super conscious mind of which I am a part of.

I am a Special Enterprise of The Source

  • Pragmatic mysticism. It is not the kind of belief that makes me withdraw from the world, or live in a cave, or mortify the flesh, or deny myself anything that makes for gracious living. It is a pragmatic, everyday, usable union with the source. That is what it is in simple terms
  • The source created each one of us "a special enterprise," and endowed us with a mind. We were given self-consciousness. No other species on the face of this planet has that. I know who I am. I may not know the all of who I am, because no one does. But I do know "I am so-and-so." I do have the power of original thought. I can form a concept. I can carry it out
  • I have self-consciousness. I have the kind of mind that recognizes its own identity. I have free will. I have the potentiality and the possibility of developing that mind. I am not a slave
    • I do not have to live at the beck and call of every peril that seems to lurk in the outer world. I am supposed to live as a child of God, a Son of God, a co-creator with God. That is the essence of Being, which is instilled in every human soul. I am not here to live a possible sixty or seventy years, and for the most part of it go through hell. I am here to create something in my life that only I can do for myself. Only I can do it for me. Each one of us does it a bit differently
    • Each one of us offers the source a slightly different, unique experience as we begin to find ourselves and proceed to build our lives in accordance with the Divine Plan. That is why there are no two people exactly alike in the world. No one else can do it in exactly the same way. "I am a special enterprise on the part of God."

How to Find Myself

  • How do we find ourselves? We do so by going "within." We get to know ourselves, to understand how we are made, and then we learn to use the magnificent power within us. We do it by understanding the mind, what it is, and how it works. There is nothing more fascinating than the mind. Actually, it consists of three sections, the conscious, the subconscious, and the superconscious
    • Conscious mind
    • The part with which I am busiest is that which I call the conscious mind. That is the area through which I absorb all my knowledge of the outer world. It is the part of the mind with which I think. It is the part of the mind of which I am constantly aware
    • It is always busy thinking during my waking hours. It flits from pillar to post with the ease and rapidity of a wild monkey. It is the part of the mind that receives scholastic training, and retains it just as long as it needs it
    • Subconscious mind
    • The subconscious mind is the part of the mind which makes me feel. It reminds me of things I have forgotten. In one sense, the subconscious mind is the eternal storehouse
    • Everything that has ever happened to me, everything that I have ever thought, or done, or said, even though I may have no conscious recollection, is stored in the subconscious. My loves, my fears, my hates, my good deeds, my courage, my resentment, my animosities, my charities, they are all there. I am the sum total of all of that at this moment
    • If I would like to know a little of the ideas the subconscious holds, I can do so by watching myself. The clearest answer will come by looking in a mirror at myself, because the body is the complete out-picturing of what the subconscious mind is expressing. Its closest manifestation is through the physical body, and it reflects itself in the health, vitality, and appearance. Then, watch what I do
    • Watch what I say. Watch my reactions. Are they what they should be? Do I flare up at others? Do I take offense easily and then blame it on my sensitive nature? Am I always busy protecting my pride? Do I go around the world with a chip on my shoulder? If I do, I will know that there is something stored in the subconscious that is causing a bit of trouble. Get rid of it, because if I continue, sooner or later I am going to "come a cropper" and take a bad fall
    • Besides being the storehouse of memory, the subconscious is also the power house of the human being. Its function is to create, and that it does, unquestioningly, when the conscious mind gives the order. It cannot reason, and it knows no logic
    • It continues to carry out the orders until the conscious mind redirects it. The subconscious mind knows everything of the past and the present. It also has an idea of what the future might be, because of past performance. But, because it is plastic, it can and will change the future direction of my life, provided it is given the impetus and instruction to do so
    • Superconscious mind
    • The third part of the mind is actually the most important, and it is also the one with which I have the least knowledge and contact. It is that part of the mind which gives us life. It is called the superconscious mind
    • It is what I term the Presence of God in us. It does not matter what I call it, whether it is called the Presence, the Indwelling of Christ, the Divine Spark, or my own favorite term for it, I Am
    • It is that within us which is our goal, the conscious realization of the Indwelling Christ, conscious union with my Real Self. It is that Presence, that superconscious mind, which is within me and gives me the ability to think, feel, move. It is life incarnate, and I am its incarnation
    • When the presence decides I have done all I can in this life span, it withdraws from the physical body, taking with it the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind until another incarnation
    • The subconscious is the part of the mind with which I am mostly at grips. The subconscious, while it produces our good for us, also produces all of our problems. Nothing, absolutely nothing, has ever happened to me or to any other human being in this world, except that we have consciously or unconsciously brought it to pass, be it good or bad. There is no sense blaming the other fellow for things that happened to me. He had nothing to do with it. He was merely an instrument, brought to me by the law which I set in motion, the law that governs the subconscious mind

Treatments for Problems

  • There was a well-known metaphysical teacher in New York some years ago, who has since passed on. She was Florence Scoville Shinn. If I had an appointment with Mrs. Shinn, upon my arrival at her apartment she never said to me, "What is the matter with you?" She said, "WHO is the matter with you?" She was completely right. WHO is the matter with you? Do I have a problem? Then look for the WHO. And get rid of that WHO. I cannot have a healthy, constructive, creative life as long as I suffer from resentments, from fears, from malice, from envy, from antagonism, from pride, for these are the cancers of the soul
  • Resentment Therapy
    • Do I want to be an integrated human being? Who does not? If I do, I must unload some of the junk I have carried around with me in my subconscious mind. That is the price we must all pay. I can make a program for myself, which is quite simple, not easy. The program is called "resentment therapy." It is this: make a list of all the persons I have ever resented, been hurt by, or been angry with, starting with the present and working backwards as far as my memory takes me. If done correctly, I will end up in the very early years of childhood. The usual reaction in nine cases out of ten is to say, "really I don't have resentment towards anyone." Ignore that, if I have that reaction, because it is not true. Think about it for a while. Then take a pencil and a notebook, not a sheet of paper, and start working
    • Take my time over it. It may take me a week or two to complete the list, once I have found the thread in the tangled skein of subconscious memory. After having seen hundreds of these lists compiled, I can report the average list runs to about two hundred names! That is the first step
    • The next step consists of sitting quietly, keeping in mind the thought, "Whatever has happened to me, no matter how bad or how sad, conscious or unconsciously I have brought it to pass. Therefore, I can have no feeling against so-and-so. Absolutely none. So I fully and freely forgive him/her NOW." And so on, doing it with each and every name on the list. It is wise to spend no more than ten or fifteen minutes a day, starting with the names at the top of the list, then repeating the next day, starting with the name at which I stopped, until I come to the end of the list

Proper Thinking

  • Have I ever noticed that my mind is either living for the most part in tomorrow, or next week, or last year? I am either regretting the things that I have happened in the past, or I am dreading the things that are yet to come. I so very rarely hold that mind of mine in this particular moment. Actually, the only moment I can ever know is right now
  • That is the way I am created to live, but I do not. The conscious mind runs back and forth, from the past to the future, darting here and there, in a constant tug-of-war with the subconscious, which wants to stay in one place with the physical body and the conscious mind. That is one of the great causes of fatigue, from which too many of us suffer, and it results in a nervous tension from which few of us are free
  • Do I want to accomplish things in my life? Then learn to keep my mind intact. That is my job. No one can do it for me but myself. If I cannot hold my thought steady on the particular thing I am attempting to do at any particular moment, I am not going to get very far
  • Does that mean I cannot plan for the future? Of course it does not. When I plan things for myself, they are always on the positive side. When I create my mental pictures, and feed them with my desires or emotions, I am planting good ideas in the subconscious mind., when I worry (which is negative planning for the future) about the horrible things that can possibly happen, I am also planting ideas in the subconscious mind
  • Concentration
    • I must learn to concentrate. In one sense, everyone knows how to concentrate on subjects with which they are familiar and which have constituted their fields of interest
    • The presence is that which gives me life. I AM. The power is the Law which sustains the universe and everything in it. I Am a child of God, and so are you. My birthright, and your birthright, is to learn how to use that law to create my life in accordance with what it should be

[85] Mind in Relationship with Imagination

Neville Goddard

The 7 day mental diet revisited from a prosperity perspective in relation to my definite chief aim

My Ideal + Ideal state of Mind (Garden of Mind)

  • Now I will go back to the 2nd of Genesis. It is said "And God placed man in the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it."
    • Now when I read the story I think it happened thousands of years ago. I have come to tell you it is now. I am now in the garden of Eden and I think I am shut out or banished
    • I am in it, and the garden is my mind, but I need, like every gardener, I need pruning sheers
    • For I have slept, as I am told in the second chapter; having slept, weeds have appeared in the garden and the weeds are revealing themselves by the conditions and the circumstances of life

Garden of my Mind

  • I don't accept one thing in the world as final unless it conforms to the ideal I want to realize in the world
  • But I do it daily; if I do not prune it daily I will get out of the habit, then weeds will grow. Every man who really is a gardener who calls himself a gardener, a gardener in the garden of God, for every day is the opportunity to really prune the tree, this wonderful tree
  • And so everyone that I meet is a branch rooted in the vine that I am and I am that special tree in the garden of God, a tree bearing life, a tree bearing fruit for the food of the nations. I am that one

Ways to help prune the tree

  • Reflect deeply and revise
    • Replay the interaction that didn't go as I would've liked. Replay it in the desired outcome and notice how future interactions are changed moving forward
  • Paint my present from my future via belief Realtime
    • I need direction before moving forward or I move forward without needing direction
    • Trading time for money or trading value for money
    • Security in not taking risks or security in taking more risk
  • Release from stagnation via Inspiration
    • Clearing the clutter
    • Changing the environment
    • Do something different

[84] The Power of Awareness

Neville Goddard

I can feel and sense my environment to be able to determine if what I am doing is in contribution to my definite chief aim

Introduction

  • The great secret is a controlled imagination and a well-sustained attention firmly and repeatedly focused on the object to be accomplished
    • It cannot be emphasized too much that, by creating an ideal within my mental sphere, by assuming that I am already that ideal, I identify myself with it and thereby transform myself into its image
  • He calleth things that are not seen as though they were, and the unseen becomes seen [Romans 4:17]

Transformation + Self-Image

  • To reach a higher level of being, I must assume a higher concept of myself
    • I must first assume the higher concept. This could be done by explaining to myself how I am already my higher self. Listening to this over and over will eventually convince myself for it to be true
    • I must paint my mind with the ideal vision of how I see my higher self to be. Articulate the story in vivid detail, speak it in the present tense to myself, and imagine it with feeling and emotion
  • To be transformed, the whole basis of my thoughts must change. But my thoughts cannot change unless I have new ideas, for I think from my ideas
    • All transformation begins with an intense, burning desire to be transformed
    • The first step in the "renewing of the mind" is desire
    • I must want to be different [and intend to be] before I can begin to change myself
    • Then, I must make my future dream a present fact. I do this by assuming the feeling of my wish fulfilled. By desiring to be other than what I am, I can create an ideal of the person I want to be and assume that I am already that person. If this assumption is persisted in until it becomes my dominant feeling, the attainment of my ideal is inevitable
    • The changes which take place in my life as a result of my changed concept of myself always appear to the unenlightened to be the result, not of a change of my consciousness, but of chance, outer cause, or coincidence
    • All transformation is based upon suggestion, and this can work only where I lay myself completely open to an influence. I must abandon myself to my ideal as a woman abandons herself to love, for complete abandonment of self to it is the way to union with my ideal
  • Self-Image
    • Everything depends upon my concept of self. That which I do not claim as true of myself cannot be realized by me
    • I become according to my resigned will, and my resigned will is my concept of self and all that I consent to and accept as true
    • If I would change my life, I must begin at the very source with my own basic concept of self

Attention

  • When the imagination is not controlled and the attention not steadied on the feeling of the wish fulfilled, then no amount of prayer or piety or invocation will produce the desired effect
  • My assumptions determine not only what I see, but also what I do, for they govern all my conscious and subconscious movements towards the fulfillment of themselves
  • When I know what I want, I must deliberately focus my attention on the feeling of my wish fulfilled until that feeling fills the mind and crowds all other ideas out of consciousness
  • Concentrated observation of one thing shuts out other things and causes them to disappear
  • My attention must be developed, controlled, and concentrated in order to change my concept of self successfully and thereby change my future
  • Attention is developed by repeated exercise or habit
  • Concepts determine the route that attention follows. Here is a good test to prove this fact. Assume the feeling of my wish fulfilled and observe the route that my attention follows. I will observe that as long as I remain faithful to my assumption, so long will my attention be confronted with images clearly related to that assumption
    • For example; if I assume that I have a wonderful business, I will notice how in my imagination, my attention is focused on incident after incident relating to that assumption
  • My imagination is able to do all that I ask in proportion to the degree of my attention. All progress, all fulfillment of desire depend upon the control and concentration of my attention

Action + Freewill

  • The question is often asked, "What should be done between the assumption of the wish fulfilled and its realization?"
    • Nothing. It is a delusion that, other than assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled, I can do anything to aid the realization of my desire
    • I think that I can do something, I want to do something; but actually I can do nothing. The illusion of the free will to do is but ignorance of the law of assumption upon which all action is based
    • Everything happens automatically
    • All that befalls me, all that is done by me - happens
    • My assumptions, conscious or unconscious, direct all thought and action to their fulfillment
  • The principle of "Least Action" governs everything in physics, from the path of a planet to the path of a pulse of light. Least Action is the minimum of energy multiplied by the minimum of time. Therefore, in moving from my present state to the state desired, I must use the minimum of energy and take the shortest possible time
    • My journey from one state of consciousness to another is a psychological one, so, to make the journey, I must employ the psychological equivalent of "Least Action" and the psychological equivalent is mere assumption
  • The assumption of the wish fulfilled is the ship that carries me over the unknown seas to the fulfillment of my dream
    • The assumption is everything; realization is subconscious and effortless
  • It is impossible to do anything. I must be in order to do
    • If I had a different concept of self, everything would be different
    • I am what I am, so everything is as it is
    • The events which I observe are determined by the concept I have of self
  • If I change my concept of self, the events ahead of me in time are altered, but, thus altered, they form again a deterministic sequence starting from the moment of this changed concept
    • I am a being with powers of intervention, which enable me, by a change of consciousness, to alter the course of observed events, in fact, to change my future

Faith

  • I must imagine that I am already experiencing what I desire
    • That is, I must assume the feeling of the fulfillment of my desire until I am possessed by it and this feeling crowds all other ideas out of my consciousness
  • Form a mental image, a picture of the state desired, of the person I want to be. Concentrate my attention upon the feeling that I am already that person
    • First, visualize the picture in my consciousness. Then, feel myself to be in that state as though it formed my surrounding world
    • My imagination that which was a mere mental image is then changed into a seemingly solid reality
